I have been having way too much fun riding jeep trails and dirt paths around Phoenix this winter, lots of rough washboard and rock jumping. I noticed my left headlight now aims way low and to the left of where I had them set. I've checked the bulb is not loose, and I can reset the aim with the adjuster screws but I'm thinking there must be something broken inside the housing. Any advice appreciated.

Sounds like the fulcrum about which the reflecter adjusts has jumped it's mounting. If you ride behind a buddy in the dark, they will probably report that your light pattern is continually flickering on uneven road surfaces.

Yamaha solution is a new headlight unit but I seem to recall others have managed to re-locate - sorry, never needed to get my hands dirty with my S10, but I suggest you drop the whole light unit out to check

Make sure your bulb is installed with the 7 o'clock tab located in it's slot. It's not hard to get this wrong.

Hopefully there is something you can do to correct what ever happened. I hope you don't have a cracked/broken front sub frame as well. You might want to examine that closely when you remove the headlight assy. It should be noticeable enough by just grabbing the entire thing and seeing if you have play. Still, one bulb and not the other may just be a localized issue as Squibb suggests.
