I got a throttle lock, flattened the seat, cut 2” off the 25” windscreen that was directly in my line of sight. Has winglets so I’ll see how those changes help. I think just being able to give the right wrist a break and relieve the numbness will be a big help. Let’s see! Highway pegs are next. I think I’m going to buy a skid plate and bolt the passenger pegs to it. Thanks again

Not sure if it was covered in this thread but I lightened the throttle return spring and put larger diameter grips that were soft and grippy. That really helped my hands on long trips.

South East Louisiana. In da swamp Cha
Last year at this time, I broke out on a 19 day solo "adventure" across the US. I live in South (very) Louisiana and rode out to the NorthWest part of the country. It was my first solo trip longer than a day. I was 51 years old. I made it to Whitcha Falls Tx the first day and thought "what have I done"! Day 2 I made it to Taos NM. Day 3 I arrived to visit a friend in Cortez Co and by the time I got there, my ass looked like a Baboon in heat and I took day 4 as a rest day. By day 5, things were much better and I continued to put miles behind me. I was gone 19 days, took 3 rest days during the trip. In the 16 days of riding, I traveled 6189miles. It was one of the greatest experiences in my entire life. The daily average for the trip was 387miles per day for over 2 weeks straight.
My point is, once you set your mind to do it, you will make it happen. Don't be afraid to stop, take breaks, and rest days are necessary. The first couple of days are always the hardest but the rewards will be worth it!
Good luck, and don't let your age (still young enough) be an excuse for not pursuing a dream!
