 1) Indian must be kicking the s**t out of H-D; the article calls it revolutionary for H-D, and I agree. o_O 2) 145HP out of a 2 cylinder, 1250cc, H-D? I'm very skeptical about that. 3) Pricing in the low $20ks....for a chain final drive?! 4) H-D is now using cubic centimeters instead of cubic inches? 5) It soooo bufugly. It reminds me of something....just can't put my finger on it. 6) They don't have the bugs worked out on current models. What is the reliability going to be on brand new, never seen or done before models? Glad I have a Tenrere.

the bagger craze has seemed to really catch on around here but i am not sure only selling baggers will keep Harley afloat long term. Especially with Indian coming out with the hot rodded bagger with the water cooled engine. With the Harley demographic aging and from the reports of younger people not buying Harley's ( i see lots of younger people riding Harley's though) they will have to expand their market in some way. I really like to see Harley trying something new even if it has teething pains. On the other hand Harley has made so many types of engines over the years that they decided to not produce for some reason. hope they will follow through with this project. they did market the V rod but with its chassis set up it seemed to be channeled for the same buyers. Not really effective. With these bikes it is a complete different marketing group that would consider buying Harley.

I owned a Road King for nearly 10 years and didn't have any reliability issues with it. Personally I'm glad to see an American bike maker strive to compete against the Europeans and Japanese in this field. With 145hp, this bike is going to be a blast.

I didn't mean that ALL H-Ds were crap, just like not ALL Beemers are crap. But, neither of those brands are known for their stellar reliability. And, it has always irritated the hell out of me that H-D has never TRIED to compete. But, on the other hand, I don't think the die hard H-D fan WANTED to compete with Europe or Japan. H-D's 114 cubic INCH motor only makes 100HP. So, unless Ducati or KTM is supplying their cubic CENTIMETER motors....I doubt the 145HP claim....but, YES, it would be cool.

It's been competing in and dominating the cruiser market for years. Good to see them branching out in a serious manner now.

Have you ridden a 114? It's an amazing motor, make awesome power right where you need it for street riding. In the low end and midrange. It makes 30 ft.lbs more peak torque at 2260 RPM than the KTM Adventure S makes at peak at 6900 RPM. I took a fat bob out for a spin and had a huge grin on my face the whole time. Kind of like my flashed S10. :D

I owned a Uly for about 6 mo. Super cool bike to own but from a ride-ability standpoint, it wasn't on the same planet with anything in the ADV market. About two weeks ago, I saw a tricked out Uly in a garage with a tricked out GS and a tricked out DR. I asked more questions about the Uly.

Harley Davidson has intrigued me my entire life. Always told the wife let's get one for are anniversary starting at are 20th. We just celebrated our 35th we still don't have one sitting in the garage.
I've probably rode at least a dozen different models only to return from my ride and say wow I really didn't like that.
Through the years I have met and know a lot af HD riders. They are just as excited and sometimes more about what they ride as I am mine
I just can't be apart of their following
