Glad it was a simple fix......................
Hard to go through hours, or even days of diagnosis and troubleshooting only to find it's something you easily overlooked.
But at least you are learning the bike, and the systems!

Excellent. Diagnostic process works when you follow thru with the basics. I love to check the simple and cheap stuff FIRST. solves a lot of problems before people throw money and parts at something unknown. Well Done!

Congrats! The zero voltage comment got me thinking about fuses.

Thanks for this post, coming from a carbureted Gen 1 Vmax it’s good to know there is a on-board diagnostic system vs. having to try to manually check all the system. Lots of great suggestions from the board too, a real “team effort”!

Well - just rode this bike from Richmond down to Jacksonville (630 miles), a brief side trip to Daytona, back to Jax and home today to Richmond. Bike performed flawlessly, easy cruising between 70 and 85, it just hums along. Instant starting and good response in every gear. The new gear indicator very helpful. My FJR and BMW -P are very jealous.

Thanks for all the helpful replies on this issue. Stuart
