As long as the new handlebar is 1 and 1/8 inch diameter, you should be fine. I've just installed the Rox Risers and am going to see how the OEM handlebar works (2016 S10). So far it's better, but i'm nursing a rotator cuff injury, so it's inconclusive at this point. The part that is S10 specific (or angled lower mount specific) is at the base of the risers - the angle on the S10 lower mounts requires a longer (I think it's just longer) stub coming off the risers. But the upper part that attaches to the handlebars shouldn't make a difference. The handlebar itself is straight and not angled like the lower mount.
So while I can't provide direct evidence, I'm in a similar boat as you and will be testing out the OEM handlebar with the risers. I looked at this issue when putting it together and don't see a problem with the risers if you want to try a different handlebar.
