A quick hello to the group, have been searching through the threads since getting my Super Tenere last week.
Some dick ran me off the road on my 07 FJR, had always wanted a Super Tenere from the moment they came to Australia.
Last week I was lucky to pick up a mint 2010 Gen 1, with 14000k on the clock.
I'm not new to the Tenere, had a XT600 Tenere back in 1989 (loved it), since then have gone through a number of bikes, the last being the FJR which I spent 14 months on around Austtralia.
Not sure where the Super Tenere will take me.

Welcome to the group. What accessories/farkles do you have on the bike?

Hi, other than OEM crash bars and OEM top box that's it at this stage, 9 years old low Km's and stock...just researching now, first will probably be a Barret slip-on, then Pyramid plastics side cover, looking at Bumot panniers.

What kind of riding are you planning ? I would suggest a skid plate, and crash bars of some sort if you plan on taking it off pavement at all. The stock plastic protectors don’t help much.

If you can put a location (doesn’t have to be exact) in your profile. That helps determine availability of accessories.

Get some miles on her, and enjoy!

Welcome to the forum and enjoy the change of bikes. I also came from the FJR to the Super Ten and am now on my second Super Ten. Great riding in your part of the world. Try to get over to Tazzi if you can.

EVERYWHERE. Welcome from Texas. Many here have followed what apparently is the natural progression from FJR to Super Tenere; including myself. I miss the FJR motor, but like everything else better on the Tenere.

Hi, by OEM I meant the steel OEM steel crash bars...trying to track down a skid plate that will fit with the OEM crash bars as it seems there is a bar/cross member on the OEM that does not suit many of the Major brand skid plates

Would love to get the bike down to Tassie, did a couple of weeks there in a camper van (many years, one wife and five kids ago)
