I have a Givi top case with universal mount from my Suzuki that I want to fit and I’ll be darned if I’m going to buy a bike specific mounting plate for a “universal” mount. These two holes look up to the task of securing the maximum rated eleven pounds load, (minus case). Couldn’t try it tonight as the bolts in question were bending my Allen key, so I’ll get a wrench tomorrow.
Anyone try this?

Yup, that’s my mount FALCONSEYE, a universal bracket. You might be right about it’s direct design purpose, but I’m sure I can drill out a couple holes so make it work since I already own it.
BTW, I would use caution trusting the higher weight rating on the alum mount. The OE rack says 11 lbs, (which is nothing) and that includes your new mount and the top case, (ridiculous). The subframe seems to be steel and the plastic rack frame looks robust, so maybe that weight rating takes off road bumps into consideration, or does it? I’ll have to search for some reported failures and get a sense of what the rack can safely handle. Again being so light, I don’t think multiple large mounting points are essential.

I always tell my wife that box of assorted screws, nuts and bolts is so I don’t have to run off hardware store every time I work on a project and so today I was right.
Reused the center bolt and two spacers plus one of my own and some washers so that it has five points on which to rest and the two large bolts for up and twisting. Another option was some scrap steel between bolts so I could drill a couple extra anchor points for the plastic mount, but I think if I respect the light load limit of this carrier the mounting system is more than adequate.

Sorry OP, I beg to disagree.

Surely you can pick up on a couple more fixing points to keep things safe & use the Givi square washers under those bolt heads too. You would be surprised at the forces these top boxes are expected to take when loaded & say with a pillion using them as a backrest.

Just sayin ............ your bike, your choice.
