Ok got it, I could install the larger case but need to remove in order to use side ones. Just trying to decide to go larger top case and then later upgrade the stock panniers to the Givi Outback 37/48 panniers.

The main advantage to the OEM cases is that they're narrow so make it easy to lane-split. Also, they don't require large pannier racks.
If these things don't matter, then the Outback panniers would be a better choice.
Personally I'm not a fan of the Outback Trekker 58. It's a lot of weight hanging off the rear end of the bike. The Givi plastic top cases like the E52 hold almost as much but are lighter and don't hang off as far. Just my $0.02...
I ended up ordering the Givi Trekker Outback 42l (black) case and aluminum mount. This will work well with the stock panniers and eventually I’ll upgrade the panniers at a later time.
