I'm posting this purely as a tease. Yesterday, I saw the latest offerings from Gilles Tooling. Anyone whose had this gear will know what the products are like. Stunning quality.

The footrests I saw rotate, for adjustment, around a central axis. Sort of eccentric cam effect. The rubber footrest inserts are spring loaded revealing grip spikes when depressed. The attention to detail in these thing is 'out freakin standing'. You're gonna wet yourselves when you get a glimpse. They're gonna be available for the Tenere in January as i understand it. Watch this space and I'll update you as we learn more.

Those sound great. Are you familiar with pivotpegz? Are these from Gilles similar?

Yes I've used those on my dirt bikes. They're more to do with lack of articulation of the boot. Great bits kit. These are for finite adjustment. The main bracket uses the bikes standard fixings, the mount clamps around a circular shaft ~ 50mm dia this shaft is tapped eccentrically to receive the shaft of the footrest .... this means the mount shaft can rotate allowing 360 degrees of adjustment up, down, side to side. Just enough to accommodate pretty much all foot sizes or quick adjust for standing or sitting. The pics will reveal all I promise.

The footrest is traditional bear trap design with the sprung rubber insert. Really cool. BTW they will be ~ £300ish a pair but hey ... it's only money and you can't take it with you ;D
