'Picked up a used '17 recently - going to assume that p.o. had installed one of those tank bags that use a horse shoe shaped base plate that fastens to gas cap - anyway, the ring is broken in 3 places and I'd really prefer not to have to shell out a couple bills for new replacement

anyone holding a busted up tank that would sell the cap??

I'm located in Victoria BC but shipping shouldn't be much of a barrier for such a light piece

Thanks for lookin! :)

I've had one of those horse shoe shaped lock rings on my bike for dang near a decade now, no cracks showing on the tank side. I wonder what the previous owner did...
There are one or two members who have replaced everything with a threaded cap, no key. They might see this, or it's another direction to look in.

I'm guessing it had something to do with the removal - however, the more i mull it over in my noggin, I'm thinking he mayyyy have use screws that were too long in the holes that are just for looks and don't actually anchor the assembly - being as those holes in the ring are threaded, if the screws were too long, they would force the ring and crack it - gonna check this out today - haven't been in the shop this week as I've been down hard with the crud - there is a nice screw in cap by a co called Oberon but they are euro and there's only one Canadian Oberon dealer - i know one rider here has it and likes it - maybe i'll just have to import it and take my chances with the duties etc :/

I have bought lots of stuff on eBay and only had a problem once because the seller never shipped the item, paypal refunded my money.

I've ordered/bought things on ebay from all over the world. The most recent from Thailand, which did take longer than I hoped, but wasn't the seller's fault. It was in the US within 7 days, then the USPS and Customs doinked around with it for 3 weeks before shipping it, then the package was damaged by USPS and had to be re-packaged before shipping it the last 90 miles to me. Item arrived in good shape w/o damage today. I'm happy to get something not available in the US, even if it took a while to get it.

Please tell me it was not Kratom- Mitragyna speciosa.
I have no need for evergreen products. It was a tall windscreen for my scooter. Not much aftermarket available in the US for the 2021 models yet.
