I’ve just ordered a Fuze block to connect all my electronics to and am considering where to mount it. There’s a nice little space below the tool pouch storage area but having seen photos of these bikes wading through quite deep water I wonder if it’s a bit too low? Where do you mount your fuze blocks?

Though mine isn't a Fuze Block (it's an Eastern Beaver PC-8), it appears to be about the same size as the one I installed. I made a small aluminum shelf out of a piece of 1.5mm aluminum sheet for it to sit on, and I bolted the shelf to an already existing bolt hole in the compartment under the seat. I put the fuse box on the shelf to make a neater installation; that way, I could run wires underneath the fuse box. I cut a slot into the floor of the shelf (it's in the side closest to the wall of the storage compartment) so I could run the wires from under the shelf, through the slot, and into the fuse box.

That’s a neat looking job. What made you put it under the seat rather than near the battery under the side coweling?

I was intending to place mine in the side cowl because it’s closer to the bars for heated grips and satnav etc so less distance for wiring.

Although expensive, the Rowe Electronics PDM60 is the best. Completely eliminates the need for fuses, and it easily fits in that space just forward of the battery.

I put my Fz1 under the seat in the end. Should I be worried about water getting under there? I don’t tend to ford rivers very often...

Mine's been under my seat for about 65,000 miles (which has included a lot of rain), and there's never been a drop of water in that under-seat storage pan.
