New 2015 bike delivered 4 days ago. New with full tank the range said 470kms. Now after 90kms the range has gone up to 570kms and the fuek guage has not moved off full. I undersrrand how it is supposed to work but am wondering if the delvery mechanic missed a check in the tank.

Range will keep going up and down, according to how you drive.
In other words, the S10 wil constant calculate how long you can drive, from how much fuel is used in the moment the calculation starts.
(or some average in a short periode, then calculate)
So yes, not very helpfull. And when range is showing "0" and you are still driving, don't be suprised ;), and after a while showing "0", it will start showing something else I forgotten

Totally normal.
Covered many times.
Depending on how many mpg avg your ride is getting, I've gone on reserve at anything from about 175 to 250 miles. The 175 was pulling a trailer at high speeds (85+) on a highway. The 250 was intentionally seeing how far I could get, mostly droning along a smooth road at about 50-ish.

The range is pretty inaccurate, as is the fuel gauge, and the "to go" is worthless. The only real accurate thing is when it starts counting up reserve miles. Try it once with a jug of spare fuel and you'll know exactly how far you can push reserve.

But I recommend if you do try the run it totally dry, really Ride hard. If you do that and get 30 miles (or 50) then that would be your remembered distance. If you take it easy and get 60 then when you are fully loaded on the slab going 80 and think you have 60 to get gas, well have fun walking to the gas station.

I have put on over 50 miles with the reserve indicator counting up out in Montana, I was sweating the possibility of running out of gas because I was worried the next town might not have gas, I slowed down to 50mph, when I got there they had gas, it only took 5.6 gallons

I never use the "miles to go" feature...preferring the "reserve miles used" instead. I routinely get up to 40-45 miles out of a blinking guage..& fill up with appx 5.5 gal leavin anuther .5 gal before empty...in theory..never tested to a dry tank
Saturday's ride with mixed 40-60 mph county roads & some 80mph highways yielded 240+ miles on those 5.5 gallons

14 Supa Ten...no reflash
