Noticed an intermittent fault on my 2016 ES in that the fuel gauge sometimes shows full when it us not full of fuel - Sometimes seems to correct itself and work properly after switch off/on - Anyone had this before or any ideas ?

Not sure about the Gen II but my gauge will fluctuate between bars when on the side stand and off. If you're near the approximately 80 mile cut off from full bar to the next it will change.

I've got a 2016 as well and it's like Don said. Mine fluctuates when sidestand or main stand is used. No problems with it.

I’ve been Plenty well satisfied with the Tenere fuel gauge . I keep records of every fill and actual miles so that gives a pretty good indication of how accurate the fuel gauge is, it’s plenty accurate enough for me.

It is an odd gauge for sure. First time I was low on fuel I though my computer went bad. I got fuel and everything went back to normal. I honestly really appreciate the owners/service manuals for this bike. They both explain how the gauge works in simple terms.

I recently drove 75 km after it start flashing, and put 21,5 L in tank.
There are supposed to be 3,9 L left, when starts flashing, but there must be a little more.
I'm pretty sure I can drive 100 km after it starts flashing

Bit of a "guessometer" really. I only use it an an indication. I haven't run this bike to empty like I did on my 2010 but I should do. I reckon there is about 2.5lts of trapped unusable fuel in this tank. There was in the 2010 gen 1.

The fuel pump probably needs to be submerged for general cooling. That's probably why the gauge starts freaking out early. I really don't worry when the light comes on, since I figure I can go at least 40 miles before things maybe start getting serious. I don't tempt fate, though.
