Has anyone had to replace the front stay (part 23P-28356-01-00) on their ST? I have a 2019 ES (Cdn) model and broke both the upper plastic arms in a low speed fall. (Sections the windshield bracket assembly connects to.)
No other damage except a scuff on my right-side crash bar.

The last post in this thread (https://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?threads/removing-front-fairing.23449/page-2) questioned whether the ignition or the top of the triple tree had to be removed to access one bolt. No one ever answered, and I was unable to find any detail elsewhere.

I have the service manual, and from the diagram it looks like I'd probably have to remove the headlight assembly, but there is no detail on the front stay itself.
Since I'm not the most technically adept, looking for advice from more experienced mechanics whether I should be attempting this or just trying to find a shop to fix?

Thanks.

Broke mine back in 2012, not terribly difficult to replace but yes headlight assembly comes out. Turn bars hard to one side or the other gives access to the bolt by the steering stem. No need to remove ignition or top triple tree. Only common hand tools required. I think it was $55 back then

Thanks Doug. Appreciate the reply.

From some searching online it looks like the part is a bit more than double that now.
I was actually fortunate the windscreen didn't break, so as long as I'm able to do the repair myself, not terribly expensive punishment for a fall.

Thanks again!

Partshark.com is the cheapest I've found for parts recently, $65. Canada, dunno. Ship it to somebody just over the border?

Thanks Don.
Unfortunately the $50 shipping charge brings the total to $115, so I might as well just pay the $125 (Cdn) here and support the local shop. Sounds like it should get here by the end of the week too, so that's a bonus.
I do appreciate you checking around for a good deal though!

ES wiring? Unless you have a Yellow ES. (no yellow ES in the US) Please tell me that's not a pair of gray panties in the back ground. :D

That is the blinker/turn signal wiring harness. both those black tubes you are holding contain the resistors for the ES LED blinkers/turns. One end is terminated this is normal... when I added extra LED indicators I pulled them apart, but can remember why it is like that.

Hey thanks for that i was a bit worried someone else had been in there doing other stuff, sorta wondered if it was factory also because it was glued to the stay.
