Ok have now spent hours reading and digesting all the posts re suspension upgrades. Would now ask for the consensus of opinion with regard to the front Spring rate.
My Weight of 107 kg fully kitted. Occasional gravel track but nothing serious, mainly road. Occasional pillion but not really to be taken into consideration.
Will be upgrading rear end, but am wondering whether the 90 rate front Spring is the best for me.
Would just ask for information from those that have done it as to their front Spring rate only, how it works for them, and would they opt for a different rate if they did it again.
Finally linear or progressive. I notice that Wilburs do a progressive replacement that is slightly firmer than Oem but don't give the actual rates.
Thanks

What year i your Tenere? Do you have an ES version, I imagine they could be different, that's the next investigation on my list.

I just rode into MCT and got them to set mine up, they swapped the springs (80's I think) and used different oil and altered the air gap, end result was a much better ride, not perfect but about £200 ride in / ride out Vs £1200 for the Ohlins fork kit I really fancy it seemed good value.

two things to consider on a stock tenere.

OEM linear spring. Is never set for specific weight. Like Rasher said, go and get a spring for your weight, 5w oil, and set it to factory oil level (150mm if memory serves). Go with a linear spring.

OEM compression and rebound valving. This leaves much to be desired. Instead of going for the ohlins or traxxion bling, spring for the valving, and the bike will be transformed. I got mine from Nick at Stoltec racing in the US.

Rear shock has a plethora of choices. I went with a fully adj. Yacugar. magic.
