Front fork

Hello, first of all i would like to apologise for my poor language...
And if this topic is in incorrect place, please pass it where shall be.

I had Yamaha, I have Yamaha, and I will have Yamaha
So people, I would like buy a tenere 1200 which is broken (after colision).
Main damage is front fork, and second less important is electric wires. Regarding main damage I would like to support myself by your knowlage.
First important question:
-Does during collision exist posibility to damage a frame when forks are only bented (area where is fitted front fork and steering bearings [don't know how to call it correctly])?
(now I have FJR1300 and this area in bike is very massive and damaged it is almost impossible).
Second one:
How big is difference between fork for 1200z and 1200ze? I saw on website yamaha that just main tubes has different nr. and a lot of rest parts has same numbers?

Welcome to the forum. Please take a moment to put your location in your profile. It helps give context to your posts and helps others answer questions more accurately. The bikes are different from EU to US and Canada is also different in some ways.

The front sub frame is plastic and often damaged in front collisions. The frame itself is usually very strong, but can be cracked at the neck where the triple trees of the forks connect. Wiring harness has sub harnesses that are separate parts, so you may be able to replace just a sub harness, depending on the damage to the bike.

1200Z bikes have standard forks.

1200ZE bikes are also known as ES and are electronic controlled suspension bikes. The top of the fork caps have solenoids and wires. You do not want to interchange the fork caps and internals. You could possibly put Z forks on a ZE and simply not have electronic front suspension and possibly some error codes, but still a rideable bike. You can NOT put ZE forks on a Z bike as there would be no connections for the electronic suspension and likely it would not be possible to adjust the suspension to a rideable form.

The outer fork tubes are the same, 23P-23136-10-00, but the inner fork tubes are different part numbers, Z(std): 23P-23110-00-00 / ZE(ES): 2KB-23110-00-00. Most of the internal parts are different between the Z and ZE forks.

Here is a good resource to check part number differences: Part Shark Select the year you want to look at and the Super Tenere or Super Tenere ES version, then Front Fork to see diagrams. Note that CA designates the California US bike. The CA bikes have charcoal canisters for emissions, but are otherwise US bikes w/o immobilizers.

It was very use full, and this website which you sent is very nice. On local sides I didn't find so many models of this bike.
I hope I will find a bike for me, before I hav XV1100 now I have FJR1300 (bike must have a shaft drive) and now I am looking for some bike which will can run on rubble roads.
The choice is simple
I have just one more question. Tell me (I didn't found it on diagrams, maybe I am blind...) how is mounting battery in this bike (cant find any photos :/...)

What Don said. The lower right side panel on the Super Tenere has quick detachable fasteners. 1/4 turn style. A 4mm allen wrench is attached to the bottom of the rider seat to allow removal of this panel to access the battery.

Hi Gazownik, just like to say welcome. When you check the frame area around the steering head, look very carefully for subtle indications of accident damage such as cracked or flaked paint. The frame is strong and it sounds like the wheel and forks have taken the damage but be careful.

By the way, where in Poland are you? I regularly visit the Szczecin area.
