They folks, found a deal on a brand new 13 model. I got it in matte grey and had aluminum colored box,s added. This is the first bike I've been on since I was 15 and I'm 50 now. I find it a little intimidating but I'm sure I'll master it. I also find the suspension adjustments complicated but hopefully will get that figured out, I know I'll need a few things like skid plates, crash bars tank bags and maybe a jacket and pants or jump suite. I purchased a real nice helmet before I left the shop but pretty much need everything else. Maybe yal could recommend some brands and websites to order from with good prices. Just glad to be here. Thanks for having me

I like to go to Revzilla for info (and sometimes, even buying). They have lots of stuff and many videos and a great return policy.

Welcome! There are a TON of add-ons you can get for this bike. I spent a lot of time looking at all the items in the Modifications DB even though it hasn't been updated in a long while but many of the items there are relevant.

There are two vendors that spend a lot of time on the site and have a great selection of items specifically for the S10:

For some riding gear take a look at Bike Land, they are located in Germany. I just received my Sidi adventure gortex boots. On my feet for $400 Canadian. Here in Calgary $699.99 plus our 5% govt tax. Will be using them in the future without a question.

Congrats on the new Tenere. Great bike, you won't be disappointed!

Search feature works pretty well on the forum. Review a few threads, take a look at posted pics and then make your decisions. Many, many farkle options available for the parts and gear you mentioned.

Happy hunting!

Welcome from Malta. Nice bike - exactly like mine :) including colour, year and side cases. You'll love it.

Welcome aboard and with buying the new bike. I can not strongly enough endorse the thought of getting into one of the MSF Returning Rider or Advanced Rider classes. They were made just for a guy like you. It's not so much about you and the bike, the classes are about working on skills you will need in traffic and we all know how much of THAT is where you are.
;)
As for your comments and questions which I underlined, the bike has been in the US for nearly 4 years and sold in other countries since 2010. Please use the search box and you will find a number of prior conversations about each of the topics which you have an interest in.

Thanks fellas, got my permit today and also contacted MSF about a 3 day course. Took it out on the road for the first time this afternoon for a short ride and enjoyed it very much though it was a little intimidating but I'm confident everything will come together. Thanks agin for the welcome and recommendations

::004:: from Oklahoma! We need to ride and meet somewhere half way. I have a Matte Grey 2014 ES all Farkled. I to took a break for about 15 years, but during that time I was riding Police Motors. I really like the Tenere. Being a taller motorcycle, it might feel a little intimidating, but you get used to looking down on other people... ::025::
