FortNine is an online store for motorcycle gear in Canada. For some reason, their spokesperson decided to post a YouTube video titled “24 Hours on the Yamaha Super Ténéré”. It has 328,519 views. Their cocky know it all spokesperson has a lot to say. Most of it is not flattering, except for a few sarcastic backhanded attempts at compliments. If you would like to let this vendor, that I and many others purchase gear from, know what you think of his comments here is their Customer Service email address. cs@fortnine.ca Gear reviews I can understand, unflattering motorcycle reviews from a vendor selling me gear for my Tenere that has 100,000 kms on it, that’s off-sides. Take care, be well, safe riding. Jerry from Newfoundland.

Wow, just wow!!!

The Fortnine youtube channel does not equal Fortnine the company. If you watch his videos, he will quite often negatively review products that Fortnine sells. It is very refreshing to see someone actually review things and give an honest opinion, not the usual Revzilla "review".

PS, the video has been discussed before, not only did I not find it to be especially negative, I and many others found it to be a very accurate review of the bike.

PPS, Fortnine is an awesome online retail store for anyone interested.

Actually in the end he is saying that although it doesn't do anything special it is a great bike.

Ryan is an acquired taste, for sure. But I did not find that review to be overly negative, in fact I watched it 2 or 3 times before buying mine. And we can not be too thin skinned about our bikes. They have old style electronics, they are heavy, and they sound like the crankcase is full of marbles. Gotta tell you, it was a tough choice, I also considered a bigger GS ( I have an F650) and the A.T. was pretty appealing. So don't blast Ryan for telling it like it is.

That is the magic which is the Tenere. It is not the best at anything but it is good at everything and extremely versatile. Combine that with about the best reliability you can have on a bike makes it a winner in my books. We forget how far bikes have come. Back in 1978 when the XS-1100 hit the streets it was the fasted production bike sold that year. It's 1/4 mile time was 11.78 seconds. Our bike is 11.80 I think, so tied with what used to be the fastest production bike. https://www.zeroto60times.com/vehicle-make/yamaha-0-60-mph-times/

The video says it all... Reliable. I belive the video is a awesome backhanded compliment and gave me a honest review... It is heavy. Love the S-10 and yes it is cool that someone would complain about that video.. Life is strange.

I watched that same video. I love my bike, and I don't have any major disagreements with his opinion about it. I'm not offended with him because he doesn't like what I like, or at least doesn't like it as much as I like it. In fact, I find him to be one of the most watchable motorcycle personalities on line. I might disagree with him, but he obviously has a genuine love for all kinds of motorcycles.

At least he does give unflattering reviews on occasion, rather than just being a shill for whatever motorcycle company or gear maker is tossing swag his way for reviews.

I think I will take your advice and email Fortnine though, just to let them know how much I enjoy his videos.

I watched it too , then went and bought the bike .

I give him credit for being a far better rider than me , and for his unbiased personal opinion .

I generally like Ryan's channel with the undertone of humor against good review points that a watcher can take away a solid idea of what the product is about. He sometimes gets to be a bit much for me but that could be attributed to my general attitude of any given day. I took the Tenere review to be positive overall and his nicks seem to hold true.
I have been riding a quintessential brutish 80's designed bike which when I contrast the Vmax against the Super Tenere I find a lot to like. The rawness and excitement of the Vmax is it's forte while the ST is techy, refined and does pretty well across a broad spectrum of conditions.

I just think the OP misinterpreted the delivery of the video, as others have mentioned that's Ryan's way. He's also somewhat sarcastic but well meaning and honest. I would not buy a product if the spokesperson was gushing with enthusiasm. His review was accurate.
Relax, it's only a bike, not life changing in the least.

Good point, although "Mr. RYAN" is entertaining to watch, you are correct, he cannot possibly know it all.
He's a pitch man for Fart Nine and he's there to promote their products which I buy on occasion and have received very good and timely service.
Yes, Ryan should perhaps leave motorcycle reviews to the experts. On that note, you should be an expert by now and able to provide a detailed description of the Super Tenere. Sorry, but I can't because I'm a novice Ten rider with 1,700 km or just over 1,000 miles.
I'm enjoying my bike and love the heated grips and the cruize control.
I rode an Africa Twin for two seasons (30,000 km) and in my humble opinion the AT is a great bike more suited to off road than is the Ten.

Lol wow, grow a thicker skin man...
Agreed. I just watched it, and other than not being able to ride this thing off road as well as he can, I would have given the same review. It is what it is. And i like it for what it is. The new Ducati 1260 Multistrada is actually heavier than the super 10. It's heavy, but it's not the heaviest by any means. I am keeping mine. The long swing arm is brilliant as well.

Did not think the review was that bad. Touches on all the good and bad points of the Tenere. Bike is a little long in the tooth, but still competitive and stone cold reliable. That's what interests me in this bike. Now if someone would just buy my old bike I could experience this for myself.

I'm in the UK and I enjoy Ryans reviews and explainations of stuff. Even if he is doing a review on something I don't need, or will ever own, at 69 I still like to learn something new.
