Forks will not turn to the left

I was hoping some one may have an idea of what is wrong with my front end. I was coming home from a recent ride and noticed that the steering was acting up. Once home and in the garage I found that the forks will not turn fully to the left. It has about half the movement compared to when you turn the forks to the right. The forks will not turn far enough the left to engage the fork lock. I have had no issues with this in the past and was hoping some one may have a solution or advise before I take it in for a professional look. Thanks for any help

Okay so I just went and had a look at possibilities, there really is not much that can restrict movement, unless something like the headlight bracket stem broke away from the frame neck (this can happen), other options are wiring has somehow got tangled up between the fork leg and stem?

I had lost a bolt from wasp's screen adjuster and it dropped perfectly into the notch where the steering stop is located.

Do you have a tankbag strap that has wrapped itself around the steering stem? I leave my strap there when not using the bag, but I have a method of keeping the straps from interfering with the steering stem.
