When my bike was new, i installed new springs adn valving. One of my fork bushings was missing about 1/2 of its Teflon / anti-friction coating. you might want to pull the fork apart and check the bushings - the metallic sheen might be the bushing coating suspended in the oil.

Just to add to your post. Ive worked on tons of Tenere forks. They are hard on bushings. I always suggest if anyone is working on there forks they go ahead and replace the bushings while they have them taken apart..

I think 43mm forks on a Tenere is a bad choice if it’s ridden off-road, it’s one of my gripes. I second the bushings wear.

Update:As the great Mr.Tabasco said :)"They are hard on bushings"after i replaced the fork oil i discovered a slight weep in RHS fork after a spin ,i stripped the forks AGAIN and installed new seals, bushings and oil.
Lesson learned.

Getting ready to service my front forks. The bushings you speak of that could be replaced, I assume item #5?E13516B3-B49C-4E3A-BABC-9AB57ADB2BC6.png

The All Balls kit cetainly seems cheaper that the OEM parts. Any comments regarding the quality and longevity of the All Balls kit?
