There it is! This is where that beauty needs to be displayed in all it's glory. But....I'm assuming that it was cooked IN cast iron with butter....not the other way around. :)

This slumgullion is a hillbilly meets Thia & Italian fusion. Pad Thai with venison rump roast instead of shrimp, chicken or pork. It may be linguini instead of rice noodles too. Sauce was excellent if I did concoct it.

If I didn't eat things that weren't aesthetically pleasing, I'd have starved long ago. :D

Upgraded the grill today. Steak and fried potatoes with some peas and carrots in a bit. I'll try to remember to take a pic or two. I've been looking for a dual fuel 2 burner grill for a few months so I can hook it up to the house NG line, but still revert back to a 20 Gal propane tank if needed. We get tornadoes here, so house gas might not be available in a crisis. Found a NexGrill 720-0864R and conversion kit at Home Depot. 15 10% military discount plus some coin I had on a store card from returns put it in the budget.

Spent the early evening cleaning the old Char-Broil and forgot to take a pic of the new grill before it got dark.

So this is kind of funny... I still had a little gas in the propane tank from the old grill, so I hooked up the new grill and did a heat cycle, then went to cook the steak this evening... and you guessed it, ran out of gas just about the time I was getting a little sear on. Had to butter fry the steak in a pan on the stove. Then, right in the middle of that, a guy calls me to buy the old grill off my CL ad and I totally forgot to take any pics of dinner.

I have a three burner grill, but only use one burner. I'm a huge fan of indirect heat. I found an iron box at Wal-Mart, and then later a stainless Kingsford box on Amazon. I put wood chips in the box, put the box over the active burner, and voila', my propane grill smokes like Cheech & Chong's van. I also have a charcoal grill, for those times I just want to get medieval. Our Home Depot only gives a 10% discount. I'm not complaining, but I wonder why the difference.

….Oh wait; yours comes in a take out box.
Yes..it..does. :) After getting off work at 9p, I have no interest in food construction. I nuke my take out box, grab my beer, and hit the shower. By the time I'm done with the shower, food's cool enough to eat. YUM.

It's 10% here too. I don't know why I thought it was 15%. Probably because I bought the $89 NG adapter kit and they gave me the discount on that too, so the total discount on the receipt was more than the 10% for the grill. I just looked at the discount amount and spaced that I got it for everything, not just the grill. I have got to remember to ask for that discount more often. Just spent $300+ at Lowes on mulch and could have gotten 10% off there too.

Something we haven't done in a while. Kielbasa with potatoes, red bell pepper and carrots. Oven baked/roasted with some olive oil, garlic, sea salt and parsley flakes. A little mozzarella cheese over the top, because who doesn't like cheese!? Some honey mustard hit the spot with the kielbasa too.

Ready for the oven.

Next time we'll put the sausage in about half way thru and see if the potatoes crisp up a bit more. Also put the cheese on a minute or so before pulling out of the oven. (Just sprinkled it on the plate of goodness this time.)

Recipe available on request.

I don't know how far & wide this sausage sells, but if any of y'all can get hold of some, you will NOT be disappointed. I've grilled/smoked it, and ate it ala carte, or in a bun. I've also chopped it up, and put it in spaghetti sauce, or a pot of beans, gumbo, and jambalaya. Eric's dish above reminded me of it. It comes in the shown country blend (my favorite for adding to recipes), beef, and cheddar & jalepeno (my favorite for putting in a bun). Damn it, I'm hungry again.

Butter basted backstrap ala a rough version of Gordon Ramsey's and his sweet and sour peppers over brown rice. Baker Bettie's quick bread. Pap, 94 yo, ate with vigor!
