Nope. . . . different folks like different things. Apparently, I'm on the boring side.
I also love burgers.
Beef burgers, shrimp burgers, breaded ground pork burgers, fish burgers, even some vegan burgers.

I am also a total food traditionalist. The way my mom and her mom (Rest their souls) made things was special to me and since smell and flavor make up for a lot of memories I still make it that way today because its what I know and how I like it.

Burgers are a brilliant invention, just spoilt imo by fast food. Some of the finest ingredients all packaged in a delivery system for an easy-to-eat mouthful.
I didn't't get a pic, but my wife did some jalapeño burgers the other day. Big thick patties with chopped onion and jalapeño. I grilled them over charcoal and threw in a few pieces of mesquite for good measure. I let them a bit longer on the first side than I usually would, to get good caramelization, then flipped them. Left them a little longer on the 2nd side as well before dropping two slices of swiss on each. Put the lid back on the grill to get the cheese all nice and melted.

They sound great. I often forget to take a pic when me n Wifey hoover the plate, but a good description is just as mouth-watering.

Today was the Beautiful Wife's birthday, so she requested appetizers of cheese and crackers, (Stilton blue & Gorgonzola cheese, not shown), Veuve Cliequot Brut Champagne, and a light dinner of deviled eggs and coconut shrimp. A little Terrapin Ridge Tropical Tequila sauce for the shrimp to finish things off. Dinner was a success. We had a nice matinée movie earlier as well. Fire pit lighting off shortly.

Here is my tasty, albeit not as healthy, contribution to Food Porn. It's a cheddar & jalapeno sausage that was grilled/smoked to perfection. The brand is Opa's (grandpa's), and depending on where you live, difficult to locate. The taste is worth the search though.

And now I'm craving some decent sausage or brat. May have to visit one of the few butcher shops in a 100 mile radius here.

I used to be happy with Eckrich Sausage. Decent taste, and easy to find. Opa's is next level.

I can honestly say that these are the absolute best Pork-Chops I have ever had!

Two-inches thick!

IMG_0450.JPG

Seasoned to perfection, and vacuum-sealed in the food-saver bag.
Then into the sous-vide bath for 1-1/2 hours at 133F
IMG_0451.JPG

They come out looking slightly strange, but fully cooked all the way through.
IMG_0452.JPG

On to the sear-burner takes care of the rest.
About a minute on each side, including the edges................

IMG_0454.JPG

Absolutely tender, juicy and perfect! With a nice char-crust.
IMG_0455.JPG

With roasted potatoes, shredded cauliflower, a small salad, and a hazy-IPA.......................Delicious!
