Someone should give Nick a comb it's obvious from his pics he doesn't own one. If his hands were on a shopping cart he'd pass for homeless.

Note the title of this thread.

It should now be: "Finally, we know: It's Not Coming This Year"

Another year of speculation, Oh Boy!

Well, there's always the Big Orange 790 eye candy, and now Triump is pitching a reworked Tiger 800.

Guess I'll go look at those...

Awesome day here. Already can't figure out which pony to saddle up. So I guess I can wait a bit more without a fret. I just want to know what it REALLY is going to be.

I guess another prototype win production form isn't really a bad thing, means that if demand proves to be huge, it won't take as long to bring it to market. Did they release any specs on it?

I saw a German press thing that has some basic specs and the weight is close to 460 lbs.

Between watching the intro webcast and the press photos now out, that sure looks like a production bike in almost every way. It even has the bases for the turn signals.
I'm not going to be surprised if in the Spring Yamaha suddenly releases it "due to high demand."

A disappointing stumble by Yamaha though - all that T7 promise too.

Leaves BMW a free run with the new F750/850GS twins, as well as KTM with the 790 - strange decision IMHO.

Yamaha may release it in Europe next year, but we won't see it in the U.S. until 2020. They may even start another prepayment program. In the mean time, I will probably have a KTM 690 Enduro R or a KTM 790 Adventure parked in my garage. I'll keep my S10 and my other bikes as there's only room for 1 more in my garage. I'd like to see a 700 Tenere before I go KTM shopping.

If the new KTM proves as reliable as the 500EXC has, then the Blue Tuning forks don't mean as much to me. But it would take time before we would know, giving Yamaha the advantage even if it shows up later. (for me, anyways. My opinion only)
Or did those crazy Orange madmen just get lucky on that 5 year run of 12-16 500's?

So....what you're saying is that there might will be a certain KTM 950 SE for sale next year? ::025::

All bikes are always for sale. But nobody ever gave me what any of them are worth. Lol
My wife FORCED me to sell my nephew her SV650. He's a good boy, but he still STOLE from his uncle. ;)

Seriously, I made an offer to a fellow inmate here after he rode the SE and went kind of gaga over it. If it weren't for border issues, it'd probably live in Canada today.

As it is, shamefully it sits with a dead battery, probably dirty carb jets, and barn dust. I have no good excuse for such calamity. Shame on me!

And on me....my ol' FJ is in the same condition. But, I can't help it....the Tenere rides better than it has right to. I'm wondering if all that carbon fiber on the T7 will make it to production; awfully expensive. The video brags about it, but I'm guessing production will be "faux fiber". Who knows.... ::26::

If the production bike turns out to be close to the World Raid prototype (and I believe it will), I think I have found the bike to replace my S10.

Damn it looks good!

I'm fine with waiting another 1½ year, as I've already been waiting a looong time for a bike just like this to be released - and will enjoy riding my obese behemoth for a little while longer.
