T12 would make an excellent police vehicle... just sayin’
Abso-freakin-lutely!! With the exception of the OE bags; bags good....but the locks wouldn't hold up. Yamaha has offered the FJR in the US as an LE bike for the past couple of years. (which goes against their previous stance that the US is too litigious for them to get into the LE market) I love the FJR, but the steering is too heavy for wrestling with it at slow speeds all day. BUT, the Tenere would rule!

Our Troopers tested the FJR and had electrical problems out the wazoo. To be fair it was all the aftermarket stuff on it. They just went from Harley to the BMW 1200RTP

Like these???
Yep but in NHP blue.

But the funniest of all is our city marshals went from big HD baggers to DRZ400's!!! Hah. They love them. Now they can patrol tight downtown area, and the miles of train marshaling yard they are responsible for. Not the same department but METRO (out sheriffs office) has been running a few DRZ's on the strip, and for homeless camps in the desert for 10 years or so now. Talked to a few of those guys at lights and such over the years. They have a blast on them. Also seen them on Honda 250's.
