This was a request for assistance in getting some of my wife's favorite hot sauce. (Fullfilled! Thanks Mak10!! :D ) Now it's sort of turned into a thread about your favorite hot or bbq sauce. Feel free to share. Original post below.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My wife loves Taco Time original hot sauce. We now live in Mississippi and it's unobtainable online and no Taco Time stores around here. Closest is 600 miles North in IL, but right not is not a good time to ride there.

What I am looking for is for someone close to a Taco Time that is willing to go purchase a couple of 16 oz bottles of their Hot Sauce, Original version, and ship it to me as a Christmas surprise for my wife. Store Locator Now they used to sell bottles, but I'm not sure they still do. I'm not interested in handfuls of little packets, just the bottle form, if available.

I'm happy to pay for your lunch as well, as an incentive. ;)

I can send you funds via PayPal to cover the purchase and shipping, etc. Let me know if you're interested and willing to help me out on this.

Thanks!

Thanks for checking, all the same. Delta right now might not be wise. :D 34F, but getting there and back might get interesting. I'm hoping for someone to not have to go too far.

I find it funny as hell, that a restaurant named Taco Time, with a saguaro cactus logo, in not a primarily southwest chain. :D

The history is that the founder got home from WWII and experienced great Mexican food during his service somewhere and wanted to bring that to the PacNorWet where it didn't exist at the time. Makes sense in that context. Similar story with Taco Bell, fwiw.

Besides, you can't toss a rock in the SW w/o hitting a little mom and pop taco stand/shop/business, that often as not rocks it. I don't think the chains can compete as well with the real deal. :)

I'd be happy to help Eric. If you cover my airfares, I'll fly over, buy a box and hand deliver. I'll even dress as Santa!

I'll cover the airline bag of peanuts for you, but I'm really hoping for a member that has one in their neighborhood.

I can fly to Washington state and get some myself, but $400 is a bit expensive for some hot sauce!

I called a few of the stores around my house here in W. Washington, but it looks like they don't sell it. One store said they make it in house now. On the west side of the Cascades, the stores are operated as Taco Time NW, which I guess is a licensee of Taco Time, and must operate differently.

Hopefully someone in E. Washington can help out.

Thanks for checking on it. That may be why it disappeared from stores. I could swear I saw it in Albertsons or Kroger when I lived in St George, UT.

When I check on Amazon, I found Taco Time gift cards. I also saw bad ratings. I read a few, and they complained that the gift cards were not being accepted in Washington; weird. Apparently there has been some kind of shake up.

Nice! Now we need a favorite hot sauce thread. I've always liked Cholula. Great taste without being too hot or vinegar-harsh. You might be able to find Cholula in MS.

Yes, Cholula is common here. I like it better than Tabasco for breakfast dishes.

I ran across a more savory BBQ sauce at a discount store here a while back. Head Country, Apple Habanero. Nice, a little bit of sweet, nice heat in the back of the mouth. Great on tacos with some garlic chili sauce to amp up the heat some more.

I’m finding out I like to he flavor of jalapeños and habanero peppers a lot. I prefer them over a siracha sauce. Eggs aren’t right without some sort of sauce on there.

This one isn’t hot but has a lot of pepper flavor.

Popcorn with hot sauce is a favorite of mine. 5537BDFE-2A0A-49A6-94E5-704DD411AEAF.jpegF0703C25-2801-4A15-97DE-7D7A4FE6085D.jpeg
