Or this color since the original decal is burgundy
That would look sweet. Someone with skills in graphics could work with that to get the shapes to flow with the lines and countours of tank and shrouds. The black with red or blue with yellow would look great.

I hear you Ron, ON my current VSTROM, I have used the small GIVI 21 litre plastic saddle bags. I don't like the big ones. With these small ones i could get my tent, and sleeping bag, and air mattress in one 21 litre bag. Yep it is true!!! Sometimes people pack way too much Shiit!!

Hoebster,

Do like those bright colors as well. My '07 CBR600RR is blue on the street and bright yellow race plastics at the track. One of my favorite bikes had been the FZ1......

Trinc, did you see my earlier post in this thread? I have two pics of my old bikes i painted. SO to answer your questions, yep i like to bright colors. I never needed to wear the hi vis color gear. I could wear black gear and still be seen with the orange and yellow bikes.

Hoeb I checked out tose photos and you sure would stand out in the crowd. You say you painted them yourself, was it a difficult job?

I've had way too many "favorite" past bikes............ 8)

In no particular order:
Honda ST1100 ( I owned 5 of 'em over the years)
Honda TransAlp (3 of 'em)
Suzuki V-Strom (4 of 'em)
Yamaha Seca Turbo
Yamaha FJR (current ride)

Also owned a few Gold Wings, a couple KLR's and a ST1300, but cannot put them in my favorite list.

mortiis, yep it was very time consuming. We painted both of the bikes in a one car garage with over 20 plastic pieces hanging from ceiling as we moved around making sure not to touch any we just painted. I would hold the pieces, and my buddy would spray. Each color had the following layers (coats)
primer, sealer, base color 2 coats, candy color with metallic 3 coats, then 3-5 coats of clear. The two of us had combined 60 hours in each bike.

Since the orange bike, my buddy told me it was the last bike we would be painting. I have gone to using vinyl graphics more lately. I like the reflective decals.

Jeff, keep us all in mind if you create graphics. Maybe we could do a group buy?

Every bike I've owned has left me with a lifetime of memories. Some of them might not have been the best of bikes, but the places I've been, the people I've ridden with and met, and the things I've done, were the best I could have hoped for.

After 40 years of riding motorcycles, I'm still madly in love with them.

To many bikes to name but the one that got me started is the Honda 1970 CT-70 then a 1971 SL-175, after that many bikes.
I was hooked.
The ones I wished I had today not counting all my YZ's is my 1974 and 75 Z1's and the 1986 Yamaha Fazer 700. I sold the Fazer in 90 in perfect condition and saw it in 91 and it made me sick to see it. :'(

After that I do not want to see any bike I have owned after I have sold it!

I gotta admit - I'm a bike slut and have had WAY too many of them over the years.

As for favorite? Probably fallls between three bikes:
Honda ST1100
Honda TransAlp
Suzuki V-Strom

But then my Yamaha Seca Turbo was nice, and so was/is my FJR, and on and on........

:D

May we quote you on that! ;-)

It's ironic how I have had many bikes that I was really attached to at the time and how that has evolved as I get older. For a long time I wouldn't be caught dead on anything that even resembled a TOURING bike! Now I have no desire to own a racer replica, too damn uncomfortable for me and the way I use my bikes. I recall reading when the first factory racer tepees can out how it was ironic that only the older riders could afford the open class bikes, but only the younger riders could stand to ride them! Oh well, I am quite content with the FZ1 as the "play" bike and the S10 as the one that goes on the "Long Way Round" trips.

#1 1972 Yamaha RD350
#2 2005 Honda ST1300 (still have)
#3 1993 Honda ST1100
#4 Bultaco 250 Persang, I want to say it was a '68?
#5 1970 Yamaha AT125 Enduro

The '69 Norton Commando Interstate and '78 Yamaha XS750E didn't rate high enough to place on my favorites list. Not all that fun even when they ran right but they only did that rarely. Maybe I didn't really appreciate the Norton as I find myself waxing nostalgic when I see a nice example. The ownership experience however will keep me admiring them from a distance. The only bike I ever owned that could break down just sitting in the garage as well as on the road.

I can never decide a favorite bike until we've done some years and miles together, so the Super Tenere is still under review. Today I would place it maybe between my STs?
