Maybe something is broken, 'cuz my '17 runs like a scalded ass ape. From idle on up. I can release the clutch as I'm giving it gas, and the front wheel will lift. Not by dumping the clutch, pure throttle. And, if I'm just putting around, using the clutch is just an option. The throttle is so smooth, I just back off of the throttle, up shift, throttle back on. I DO always use the clutch for down shifting though.
You must have something done to yours.

I know they won’t but if I would take it in saying the throttle has poor response they’ll spew bullshit to me.
I rode the Triumph Explorer as a demo for 150mls and the throttle was awful. Over bumps it was difficult to control and would jump forward. It was way to light for me. I would imagine its almost unrideable off road. I dont get that with the S10 i find it very controlled.

Hey, let us spew BS to you first! ;)

Define low rpm shifting response. At what rpms are you shifting and describe what bothers you.

Spend money on a Flash to get a throttle working properly?
What a joke!
That was MY point; apparently I didn't articulate it correctly. In MY opinion, there is nothing wrong with the throttle. I will agree that it does not act/work like any other bike that I've ridden....but it didn't take me long at all to adapt to it.

I'm in agreement to adapt to what I have before spending money on a "reflash".

Now getting back to the OP's original question: SPOKES!! IMHO those are the number one issue with these Super Tenere. Regardless of year or model. At almost 4000 miles my spokes are still bedding in after almost every ride. I'm automatically checking and tightening them even after short rides of less than a few hundred miles. My last 150 mile ride of mixed pavement and dirt I found 3 loose in the front and 6 loose in the rear. It's ridiculous!!

I remember when I started reading about loose spokes, and make sure to check them. I went out, and started tapping on them. I didn't, and still haven't, find any loose ones. Now, they all "ting" at different pitches, but there has never been the "thud" that I was advised to listen for. When they mounted my A-41's, I asked them to double check MY checking; all fine. Does it make a difference with pavement versus dirt? Mine IS a pavement princess, but some of our pavement is crap. Or am I just lucky?

Wow your spoke issues sound very serious ! So far in a little over 12,000 miles on my 2018 I haven’t had to adjust any spokes.
On my previous 2013 that I bought used with 8,000 miles on it the rear spokes were all messed up. I’m pretty sure the dealer service department messed them up because they claimed they had done ALL the service work on that bike since it was new, the owner did nothing his self.
The wheel was 1/4 inch out of round and I wound paying a professional to fix it, after he was done with it I never had to mess with those spokes again, it had 50,000 miles when traded for the new 2018.

I’ve had three S10,s, with a total of 90,000 miles, and never had a loose spoke. I have never had a break down. Fueling has been great. All the power I need. I like the bike exactly like it comes, guess thats why I keep buying them.

A buddy of mine who has a Super Tenere has warned me of this issue well before I got the bike. I’m just learning to do it as part of my post ride checks. I might add that just pinging the spokes is not a good way to check. I go around the wheel with a torque wrench and tighten everything to spec. I treat these spokes just like any other dirt bike wheel I have over the years.

I must be a slow throttle learner after 50+ years.

I don’t have any loose after 8000 miles.

It’s a good bike for the price.

That comment was directed toward the manufacturer and not an individual.
