I tend to believe that anyone vehemently opposed to another group has fallen for the narrative hook line and sinker. The narrative is that any one thought process or way of seeing is correct. Occasionally this may be true but it’s usually only in very limited areas of focus and mostly theoretical.

When it comes to politics I think it’s akin to rooting for a sports team or as often occurs, rooting against another team. It’s as if the belief is that the game matters. That if this team wins or another team doesn’t win then it will somehow benefit or hurt the associated city in reality.

With politics, follow the money. Plenty of corruption and pandering to financial interests on both sides. What we ought to be doing is arguing the system and it’s endemic corruption as a gestalt, not which team has it more wrong or right.

FB does indeed fan the flames and profit from it. Don’t believe the hype, we’re all a lot more similar than some would like us to believe.

When you want harmony you don’t focus on what is different, but what is the same. The problem is the meta view is eschewed in favor of baser knee jerk responses often because it feels better than the information overload induced confusion.

Can any of us really say we know absolutely what’s really going on?

“No, but...” and right back to it! Damn shame missing out on life vying for a different team and presuming to know all about those that differ.

Thread moved to the Lounge and if it goes further into politics will likely be deleted.
