Two months.
ET will send you an email with your YES enrollment info. Most the time, it's waiting for you when you get off the phone. It's active at that point. I think my paperwork came from yamaha in about a month.

Purchase on Sept. 15, 2014. Nothing from Yamaha yet.
You're good nonetheless. If you want to make sure and lessen the anxiety, call up your local dealer and give him your VIN. If anything else pretend you're calling for a recall check and ask about your YES status while on the phone ::008::

As an update to my post of Oct. 11, I still haven't rec'd any warranty paperwork from Yamaha. Today, I called Yamaha Ext. Warranty at 866/937-3983 and spoke to a lady who verified my info. She said I should have rec'd the paperwork 3-4 weeks ago. She put in a request to re-issue and said it would take 2-4 weeks to receive. If I don't receive anything, call them again in 4 weeks. The Ext. Warranty is in their system, so i'm happy with that part of it.

Are there any Yamaha warranties available after your factory warranty has expired?

Mike
Yes. Your bike will have to be inspected. There will be a fee for that. The cost of the warranty is also a bit higher. I think it's around 20%.

Thanks. I called Yamaha back in the summer and was told I could not get a warranty. So what do I do? Just call the dealership and ask?

I just looked at the terms here: http://www.yamaha-motor-yes.com/terms.html

It appears that your bike is not eligible. This appears to have changed. I suggest you call your dealer or my uncle ET. It used to be not such a big deal. Unscrupulous dealers would claim they did inspections and turn in the warranty. Perhaps those dealers ruined it for everyone...

Just got my bike covered. E.T. is friendly and easy to deal with. I feel so much better that my bike is now covered until 2018! The dealear here in San Antonio sells this same warranty for $900.00.

Was the price you paid same as in the first post of this thread? That post hasn't been updated for two years so wondering if still current? I don't want to call and bother them as my new bike warranty doesn't expire until Christmas so probably wont purchase until end of November.

Im with you Venture,

Ive only bought a few warranties in my life. One was on another Yamaha bike years ago.. I bought the 5 year plan. After 4 1/2 years it paid off big time.. Yamaha replaced a faulty part that messed up, it also caused damage to a lot of other parts.. Would have cost thousands of dollars to fix. The whole thing went really smooth and was returned better than new... Only cost me the warranty 4 years before..... On the ST I bought the + 4 year again.. :)
Old post revived...

And I agree with Jaxon and Venture. After 3 1/2 years my extended warranty, YES plan, covered almost every moving part in the engine (balancer system not included). The CCT Failure caused enough damage that every moving part was replaced other than the Head and Clutch Basket. All the parts of the head were replaced but the physical head was not. The Clutch Basket was not damaged but I bought a 2014 clutch basket and had them install it. The Connecting Rods were replaced because the rod bolts were back ordered so they had to warranty the Connecting Rod Kit which included the Rods, Caps, and Bolts. The parts were approximately something less than $5,000 and I have not a clue what the Labor costs were. So $414 dollars for four additional years paid for itself many times over.

My bike came with an extended warranty and it's already been used within 5 months of ownership. The turn signal button came off and they don't sell just the button. I would have needed to purchase the entire left side electronic assembly (easily $100+) but they covered it and replaced the whole damn thing. Thanks YES!

Well Crap, wish I had checked this thread, I ended up getting three more years for 450.00 from the dealer I bought my bike from.

The other local Yami wanted 600+ so I guess I did ok.

Will lick my wounds on the 75 dollars extra, I did not need new gloves anyhow :p

I got hit for 899.... I had no idea you could buy it cheaper through other dealers. I wish there was someway I could cancel and re-buy it through this group buy.
