emission delete

btw, that pos KTM as you call it beats yamaha/honda in every possible department what is very apparent on Dakar Rally.
Better suspension, better power, better torque, new technology use, plastics etc etc I know because I own one and it's not less
reliable then yamaha or honda I have as well. As a matter of fact, just the opposite, more problems so far I had with yamaha.
Those KTM's are highly modified that run in the Dakar Rally. The Dakar Rally is a very poor indicator of the reliability of a consumer owned machine. There is no way any OEM KTM is as reliable as a Japanese bike. And that includes my 300 which was a money pit from day one of owning it. Please do not take my word for it. Just go into any KTM service department and see how many of the motors are out of the bikes and on the bench being fixed.

As far as removing the charcoal canister, the only benefit is less weight and bulk. There is no performance gain whatsoever. Engine is not going to run any cooler.

It is simply. Remove the O2 sensors and without unplugging them (so that the ECU does not fault code) tie them on some side, and cover holes with some screw. Remove catalyst by cutting it and replacing it with a spout, and going out to test Bike. If it is good, and you like it, share it. If you dont like it share it too.
I read in other forum that without cat, the exhaust become more noise. But if without cat+(akra,yoshi,twoB)....say that is “very noise”
This, is de best forum of Super10. maybe the member that read this post, not remove Cat ( I dont).
Just wait that others member read this post, maybe someone make the job, and can tell us yours experince

found already lambda eliminator kit for ST as I got for my xt660z.

https://www.o2eliminators.com/xtz-1200-super-tenere-11-15-o2-oxygen-sensor-eliminator.html

FYI, reason for use and benefits of deleting o2 sensors:

The O2 sensor which is installed in the stock exhaust systems of motorcycles are used by the Manufacturer to adjust the fueling in order to pass the emission tests for street homologation.

This is done only in a very limited RPM range under certain load situations.
The intention behind it is not to improve the performance of the machine.
It's aimed to reduce the emissions of the engine in the specific RPM/Load situations which are tested during the homologation process.

This can result in delayed throttle response or unsteady power delivery. If you replace your silencer or exhaust system or fueling, it's suggested to remove the installed sensor and replace it with this eliminator.

The eliminator simulates the signal given from the O2 sensor under optimal A/F ratio conditions. This allows the bike to run under best performance conditions. If you install an aftermarket exhaust, remove the catalyst, install a power commander or perform similar modifications we strongly suggest installation of an O2 sensor eliminator for the best performance of your machine.

Another words you get improved throttle response and smoother power delivery.

ok, no point of farther discussion. Not on this forum.

That's great! So why are you here? Dakar is Dakar. That's not real world riding, it's racing.

If you like KTM, stay with it. No new bike will be what you want. That's part of the fun. Stock sucks.

typical silly response for luck of arguments. It was not me who brought ktm to the discussion.
I like all motorcycles as long as the're satisfy my needs. My next bike still may be KTM not sure yet, hence my researching
about ST. Reminder: Topic question was about emission delete only for guys who actually did it.

p.s.
FYI many features used and tested in races are later included in production models.

No need for anyone to get upset. It's your bike, if you believe there is a benefit to removing this kit from your bike then do it. Please report back and let us know what improvements you gain. It all adds to the knowledge base on here and you never know, it may change a few minds on this subject. Results speak louder than anything. Genuinely, I'm looking forward to the feedback from this.

I had the O2 eliminators on my Euro 3 2014 ST and they noticeably helped throttle response, without adversely affecting fuel consumption. Presumably that bike just defaulted to the base maps in open loop at all times. However, I fitted them to my Euro 4 2017 ST and they were awful. My understanding (from the internet, so treat this with caution!) is that the Euro 4 ECU identifies the constant output from the eliminators as an anomaly and tries to stress test the voltage to correct it and kick the O2 sensors into life, which results in wildly fluctuating AFR. Anyway, I removed them 'cos they made it worse to ride!

...blindly removing lambdas is sometimes not enough, I had to tune my TPS, idle, CO2 level and block AIS.

p.s.
hopefully EU will fall apart soon and there be no more emission BS.

As I originally indicated, you will put a lot more work into removing it to get it to run well. As I also have said, ride the bike first before you assume you need/want to remove what you believe to be a "scam".

And good luck with no more emission BS. That's never going away, only getting more restrictive until there are no more combustion engine vehicles on the road. Then you can tune your electric motorcycles. ;)

It's a world market robson. Even w/o the EU, we will still see the emissions features to meet other markets and it's cheaper to build all the bikes the same than to build many bikes for many markets. (Although admittedly, that doesn't explain why US bikes don't just get the same immobilizer and harness as EU/Canada bikes. Seems like it would cost out.)

Good luck with that- If anything, without the EU the bigger countries like Germany, France, etc. would pursue even tougher emissions standards including vehicle inspections. As for "deletes", I hear that term on the big diesel truck forums a lot, and not in a good way- They delete the emissions software on their diesel engines and then find the engine is dependent on the emissions software to run properly and reliabily. Or worse yet, they get caught and have to buy and replace all the emissions equipment they threw away!

Yeah, I was with until that point, sorry! At what point do you or anyone that thinks that way believes that people will allow governments to just willy-nilly tear up clear air legislation? What future for you, your kids or grandchildren or the rest of us? If you really need to F**k up a perfectly running engine to suit your personal choice or lack of ability to adjust or control your body inputs, then do it, but to think that breathing in toxic fumes is trivial and pointless? Good luck with that one!
In London alone nearly 10,000 people die from air-pollution annually.
Carry on!

don't believe in everything what's in news paper and on TV, most are BS to pull more money.
My city is ranked as the most polluted in the country, guess what the newest
research shows - people in my city live the longest...

p.s.
Somehow your country is not rushing to join EU :)
FYI I am not against reduction of emission, I am against emission BS.

The referendum was very close to join the EU, but, paying €1 billion per year for 'trading rights' is almost the same as full access............
My air is so clean (where I live) I know if a neighbour is smoking from the road behind...........

Rant on:
I don't really care what the news or TV say. I grew up in SoCal and back in the early 60s and have my own experience, the smog was so bad taking a deep breath actually hurt and made you cough. The houses just across the street in our neighborhood were partially obscured by the haze and the effort to see through it made your eyes sting and tear. Smog alerts weren't invented until a few years later and were an almost daily occurrence back then.
Today there's no comparison, the last time we had a Stage 3 smog alert was 1974 and I've never seen it bad enough to make me cough or water my eyes in decades. This is pretty impressive considering how many more cars are on the roads now as compared to the 60s-70s. Smog controls work. It's socially irresponsible to defeat them, especially if the engine runs acceptably, which almost all do today. In the late 60s and mostly early 70s that wasn't the case, cars ran terrible, had no power got terrible fuel mileage and broke down a lot as the manufacturers figured out how to make the cars cleaner. Younger folks don't appreciate how bad it was.
Rant off.

Interesting tidbit of California smog history:

question was if anybody did it not if it's beneficial for engine because I know IT IS.
If you don't know anything about emission scam and junk added to your vehicle that's fine,
but I'm not interested on your opinion on the subject.
You LITERALLY are asking for his (and everyone else's) opinion.

You seem to have as complete grasp of internet forums as you do the operating principles of a closed loop internal combustion engine...

Oh boy!! You sure do bring back some bad memories. I remember syphoning gas during the oil embargo so we could ride at Saddleback Park. Oh and not forget the teachers screaming "Duck and Cover" for the nuclear attack!! And all this going on while breathing dirty air that had me coughing and hacking like I was taking a bong hit with every breath.

Check out KTMTALK on fb. They have problems I didn't know could exist. They are mostly enduro and offrode bikes. The 4 strokes are plagued with all kinds of strange problem and expensive services. The 2 strokes are kick ass.
