I don't agree with Eric but I do agree with what I think he meant to say. :)
13.8 V ?
I think so as well. In any event if a heated device is plugged into the bike's aux plug socket I'm certain that the fuse would let you know if it is capable.
Heated device = seat, jacket, gloves, and an air pump.

I plan on charging my cell phone with a usb adapter in the cig power outlet on my 2020 S10. Is it safe to use posi-taps to take power for my gps from the outlet accessing the wires from underneath? Will the phone and gps be too much?

#1. I am not a Posi-Tap fan at all but it's just another thing having people who love them and hate them.

#2. Depends on the phone and GPS but for a combination of most newer ones you will indeed overload the 3A fuse. btw - The wire is only thick enough for the current supported by a 3A fuse so don't just stick in a bigger fuse or the wire itself can become the fuse.

The outlet wiring is just enough to run a relay for delivering adequate power.

I use the cig lighter wiring just for the GPS and have installed 10 amp SAE wiring for heated clothing, electric pump etc.

All depends on the current being pulled through it. Most GPS's and most phones probably will not take enough to open the fuse alone, but the question was to have them together.

Seems to me that is a 20 AGW wire so it'll get away with higher loads for a while because the wire will heat and not deliver full current, till a bit of resistance starts to build at a connector. Resistance increases heat and the wire's going to fail at that point. The threat is that the wire is routed with more critical wires to the ECU & such, so if the wire really fails you are going to have to re-wire a significant portion of the main harness.

Re: Accessory Outlet on ST

I plugged in the nav into the outlet while the bike was idling in neutral. Nothing happened. I did not use blenders or anything like that ::001::
Maybe the dealer where I got the bike tested it with something who knows, I called the service today about it and they asked me if the super tenere was a generator, so I wouldn't be surprised. Im gona check the fuses today, but the general idea I get from the comments is that the outlet is pretty much weak and swapping the fuse wont gain much because of weak wiring.
When you guys refer to a fuse block, you talking about the one from twisted throttle?
I gotta get this baby fully prepped before jun 30th when I head out on my NY - Prudhoe Bay arctic express ::001:: ::26::
I wanna make sure my electric smoothie maker/bear zapper works through the outlet that yamaha put there ::013::
I have the battery tender cable connected to the battery and I have the battery tender power outlet with the cable that can connect to it, that one works fine.
Link to the bear zapper, please.

The 12 volt socket on the Super Tenere is fused at only 2 AMPS....basically to charge your fone or to power a GPS.
NOT for air pumps etc. And DO NOT USE a larger fuse, because you will cause the thin wires to melt.
I installed a separate 12 volt socket onto the handlebar and fused it at 7.5 amps...SHUMBA
