Whats up eveyone!
Just got the new Dunlop trail max "Mission on my super tenere and they are simple awesome! The bi20210729_213441.jpg20210729_213457.jpg20210729_213512.jpgke feels super responsive on corners and on high speeds. Super stoked with it. I heard excel reviews on the Shinkos 805/804. Costs half of the price.
It looks and rides great however!

I ran a set on my Stelvio, they were still on it and in great shape when I sold it. I found it a very decent all around tire giving excellent mileage. The real shortcomings of this tire (for me) was sand and snow. Yes, I ride year round and these were the worst in snow of any tire I've ever ran. The ride and the quiet was exceptional though. A guy I know with a Stelvio loves them and has ran over 12k miles on a set...

They definitely look cool! How's the noise at highway speeds?

I had the TKC 80s before these ones. They sound and perform like a road bike tires in comparison.
I am also running the exhausts without the db killers, so i would say they are pretty quiet.. lol

I would definitely agree with you on that!

I've got the Dunlop Trail Max Mission on the back of my S10, and a Mitas E07+ Dakar on the front. The Mitas has about 7,000 miles on it now, and the Dunlop about 3,000 miles now. I'm VERY pleased with the performance of the Dunlop, both on and off road. I've had it in gravel and some mud and really rocky trails and, with my limited experience, I couldn't tell much difference between it and the Mitas E07+ Dakar rear that I ran previously. HOWEVER, I can already clearly tell that the Dunlop is going to FAR outlast the Mitas rear.

I plan on giving the Dunlops a try next time I change tires.
They receive a lot of praise in all the reviews I've read and they look great.

I went from the 805's to the Trail Max Missions and really like them. Got 14,000km out of the Shinko's and they were done. I have about 16,000 on the Trail Max's and they just look broken in. Good on road and off road and I would replace them with another set if I had to. I do have a bit of a Hummm around 85 kph to about 95 kph but could just be my set. One friend has them on his Tiger and another on his GS800 and neither of theirs do it.

My situation is almost like timebak's - I just put my 7000 mile Mitas E07+Dakar front tire back on at same time I put my new Dunlop Trail Max Mission on the rear. I replaced a set of Mefo Super Explorers that wore so fast, I could see the difference after every ride. There was a day/night difference in the ride, noise and confidence categories. Based on my past experience with the E07, I'm thinking it will wear out about the same time a the Dunlop will. I too am impressed with how well the Dunlop handles in the dirt, rocks and some mud. For pavement use, the rear still has that new tire feel of new found fickability/sharpness. I am only at about 600 miles on the rear, so no real rain test yet. The Dunlop is very smooth and quiet compared to any of the other 50/50 tires I have run.

I just got an email from Dunlop and they're giving up to a $60 rebate on Trailmax Mission tires for August & September.

You can't get the rebate buying the tires online. You have to buy them in a store from a Dunlop pro dealer. Not all Dunlop retailers are pro dealers, but you can check on Dunlop.com to see where the closest one to you is.

I'm gonna take a look at the Roadsmarts. If the reviews are accurate, they might be exactly what "I'm" looking for. I had been set to get the Road 5s, but there's a guy that reviewed the Dunlops, and preferred them to the Michelins on his Beemer 1200 RS. More accurately, preferred the Roadsmart III to the Road IV. And, preferred the Roadsmart III over the IV.

My A41s are coming due for a change out. FWIW, I'm not recommending them to anybody with a liter bike. They're an average tire at best for big, heavy bikes. Might work better for the GS800 or T-7.

Heat's the issue here. It prematurely ages/hardens tires. If it stays hot, there's not a big issue. But, if the tires are well worn, the first cool day is gonna get sketchy.

I fell for all the hype about the Trailmax Missions. I’m about 1800 miles into them and they’re wearing like iron. I find the single compound to be extremely sketchy in the rain.

I live in Minnesota and am not real excited about riding them in cooler weather.I do however like them very much on dirt, gravel and dry tarmac.

If these were a dual compound tire I would happily give up a 1000-1500 miles of wear for better grip on rainy and cooler roads. These tires replaced Conti TK70’s that I found much better on foul weather roads but not quite as good on gravel and dirt.

Like everyone I’m always on the lookout for the proverbial “Unicorn” tire. The above comments are just my observations yours may well be different.
