Just put these on my bike.
I measured the front tread at 8mm, and the rear tread at 11mm "as mounted" and inflated. Measurements taken in the center of the tread.

The front mounted quite easily. The rear is quite stiff, and was a bit more difficult.

Went for a 135-mile ride Yesterday to break them in and get an initial feel for them.
Rode some dirt/gravel but mostly pavement. Rode a bunch of twisties, but there was lots of Sunday traffic so I couldn't push them very hard.

The front tire "Sings" quite loudly at around 50-55 mph!
I'm hoping this calms down a little with wear.

Initial feel on dirt roads is that the front feels very similar to my E07 Dakar that I just took off, with very similar grip level.
The rear has a bit more grip than I was expecting, but not as grippy as the E07 Dakar on dirt.

On pavement they felt planted, but again I didn't push them very hard.
I'm sure the rear will grip better in the dry than the E07 Dakar that I took off (which was quite squirmy at the limit)
Please ride them hard and report back in 4,000 miles. I want a real world report on how they do on the S10 before I switch from the 705's- the Dunlop's have to be worth it before I spend the big bucks. :p .

I have a little over 10K miles on the front and 6.7K miles on the back. The rear tire has a patch in it since 300 miles. I haven't ridden much gravel since putting them on. The front tire is holding up like iron. 45 - 55 MPH it sings pretty good. The rear tire is looking really good too. It is quieter than the front tire. The ride meets my expectations on the highway. Once in awhile a tar snake in a curve is felt. I am not afraid to take the tire through a 35 MPH curve at 65 MPH. I have a new set in the garage when I need them. None of the local dealers don't carry them so I always try to have an extra set laying around.

Interesting note: I bought my tires locally from a dealer for less including sales tax than I could get them anywhere I looked on the web. You might give it a try and be surprised.

man the 705's are hard to beat!

i tried a set of metzeler tourances recently- i liked em. i only got about 6k out of the set... i get 10k front/5k rear with the shinko 705. I'd say the tourance was a little smoother on road, but definitely worse on gravel and dirt than the 705. sooo i'm back on 705's. They're cheap enough that i'm never trying to squeeze a few more miles out of a tire either. love em.

Been a long time since I have posted an update. First, I only have approximately 6,700 miles on the tires. The tires were installed February of 2020 and due to Covid and personal medical issues I just haven’t ridden much in 2020. As before, I like these tires on dry dirt roads as they are really planted; however, I have not tried them in deep sand as I try to avoid the stuff along with deep slick mud. For dry pavement, I like them. But get the pavement wet, watch out as the rear losses traction fairly easily. I was reminded of this today while accidentally getting caught in some serious rain on roads that haven’t seen rain in a while. Wear looks good so far though.

+1 For not good in the rain. I live in Washington and ride in the rain often. I ran the Trailmax Mission rear on my V-strom650 and found it braking loose unexpectedly in 1st and 2nd. I'm afraid to try these on my Super Tenere over this fall and winter. I ran the rear 7,500 miles and liked it on dry paved and gravel roads. It appeared that it would last about 10,000 miles. I sold the V-strom before I wore the tire out. I may try a set next spring after a winter riding on Michelin Road 5s.
