I’m not a fan of top cases for the most part. I use a moose race motorcycle duffle 25l it fits everything I need if not camping and its an easy off, just unclip the buckles and take everything I need into the room. On the other hand my wife loves the top box and uses it for things she need when she’s off the bike. Purse and the like normally stay in there. And then she uses bag liners for the saddle bags and carries those in if we motel it. My quick grab goes in the small tank bag. Gloves, glasses, chargers and my cap. I do like the moose bag and it’s easy to use.

These are well worth a look, decent quality and a bargain price. I’ve used a 40L dry bag for about 8 years now, on numerous trips. Never let a drop of water in and still has no rips, tears or holes. Not sure what the score is with shipping across the pond.

I use my metal mule too box for security items and a kriega 30 strapped to the pillion seat. Helinox chair and cot strap nicely on top of the top box..

I use either Enduristan Monsoon 30 Litre of Yeti Zip Top 50 Litres. Both top quality bags. The Yeti has a waterproof zip that has been proven in torrential rain many times.

A word of warning on the Kreiga bags. They are of the two bag construction and only the inner bag is waterproof. It’s a lightweight, sewn and taped joints.
The taping came straight off mine the first time I washed them. No complaints about Kreiga stuff other than that

I just got done with riding halfway across the country and used only a roll top back on the rear seat. I strapped it down using 3 ROC straps. It worked quite well. I lean towards using the dry bag on the rear because you can fit massive ones if you want, it provides a backrest when positioned correctly and although it's shallow I do not like the look of any top case on bikes.

I joined this forum a while ago, but have not really used it. Too bad, I think I'm missing out. Anyway, this thread that caught my eye, as I'm in the process of looking for a bit of extra storage on my S10 (which has panniers and top box). For my extended trips (2 weeks and more), I pack a bit more than what the two panniers and top box can comfortable hold. So for my next journey (next week), I purchased the SW-Motech Drybag 350 (35L). After getting it home, decided it might be a bit big for my needs. So I returned it and purchased the SW-Motech Drybag 180 (18L). Felt that was possibly too small, but the shop did not have anything in between 35L and 18L. Got home with the 180, preferred it to the 350, but then saw on-line a SW-Motech 260. Tough to find the 260, but did come up with one, and ordered it. When it arrives, I'll compare the 260 to the 180, make a decision, return the one I don't want, and look forward to to my next trip (8,000 kms).

Dang you’re planning for a lot of miles. I would need large storage for that as well.
