Where you're from is less important that where you are. ;) Abe wasn't a Kentuckian, he was an American. And he ran for office as a Republican from Illinois.

The point is simple, grossly mis-representing your location to a completely different area or non-existent one doesn't help you any, just makes you look like a dork. Then you ask a question and someone says go here, except that you have to explain again and again that you're not there, you're somewhere else. Like the first post... All he had to do is put his actual location in the profile and he wouldn't have had to mention he's not actually there, but somewhere else.

This is why I'm not a Mod. :p It's one thing to put your location as a major city more or less nearby. It's completely useless to put your location across the country from where you are, in a different time zone.
Thanks for the wiki.

The Mason-Dixon line was about slave states. In modern times I always found it odd that TX is considered part of "The South". Feels a lot more like "The West" to me. Especially running dark and hot South of Van Horn.

And It's a fookin cold up here, but we're going out for a ride tomorrow.
Forecast to be 8 C or that's about 40 C but we layer up with lot of under clothing.
Insulated gloves and boots.
We will take a padkos er lunch with along with a thermos of tea.
I'm keepin my distance, but I'm gonna live my life.

Sounds great, go live that life. I'd rather run cold than too hot any day. Stay safe and enjoy the ride!

The Pacific Northwest and the Appalachian Mountains share a very similar climate. http://appvoices.org/2004/02/01/2758/

And Texas was a slave state. Even before becoming a state the Europeans were trying to enslave local Indians which created some friction with the Mexican government.
