okay peeps, I have seen several posts on disabling the entire ABS system, but I like the ABS for road use and also like the front ABS when off road, but I want to know if the rear brake/ABS can be disabled? I like to slide the rear end in the dirt to tighten turns by locking the rear wheel. The ABS keeps preventing me, I like the ABS on the front even in dirt it really helps but not the rear!! Anyone know a way to just disable the rear for off-road riding?

Cheers Gary

Not sure if I'm right on this, but would disabling TCS help this?
I think he is talking about using the rear brake to lock up the rear wheel and slide around a corner, not excessive throttle which would break traction loose and spin the back end around a turn.

Thanks guys, I already have TCS off when riding dirt, but I learnt to lock the rear wheel, not gas it, could try learning a new technique but st my age would prefer to just disable the rear ABS if possible.

Don't think our sytems can be split in half, front and rear.

Oh it can be disabled for the rear only but it is NOT a on/off MOD. If you want rear no ABS you need to by pass the pump and take it out of the system for the rear only. This would be a perm mod as I cannot see the ability to go back and forth.

I had a brake issue and lost the rear for a while but still had good front. On a side note my dealer did not believe that I rode home with my shit like that. For T-shooting we bypassed the rear to see if the brake components were ok or not, hence no rear ABS. Once the bad parts were replaced it was all put back to normal.
