Went through a massive down poor along with hale for around 30 minutes yesterday, i inspected the inside of my light housings and nothing to be seen.
I should have pulled over it was so damn heavy and with lots of heavy wind, but i was already tied into the traffic.

One of my Cyclops bulbs is showing signs of burning out, the kit was purchased two years ago and has been used for only 10,000 miles, so today I called the place I had bought them from Rocky Mountain ATV&MC, because my bulbs are over one year old I will be paying $112.03 for a new set delivered.

Supposedly these Cyclops LED bulbs are rated for 30,000 hours which would be about 1,500,000 miles, I really like the extra light output but the 10,000 mile bulb life really sucks.

Just got my set in the post, from the US to Australia in 3 days.

New extended covers in the kit, plus a set of LED marker bulbs.

Fitting them up tonight to add another 9,600 Lumens to my 30K of Lumens I have already with my D4 Denali's and Aurora 10" light bar.

I talked with Cyclops last week and they are experimenting with vented caps to let the heat out and get the bulbs to last longer . Our headlight units are small inside and contain the heat, more so then other bikes . The bulbs I just got are made different from my 1st set, we will see . Great group of people and I will get the vented caps when AVL.

Seems like for most folks the left bulb burns out first and that’s pretty much the way mine went, one half of the left bulb is completely burned out but the other half still works. So far no sign of the right bulb burning out. But I plan on replacing both bulbs before heading for Tuktoyaktuk next month.

I just installed my Cyclops LED bulbs tonight, the latest version. Of course they're far better than stock and the install is plug and play, but don't think they're as bright as the Morimoto 35W HID kit I had in my last S10.

I like my Cyclops lights, what I like better is their customer service. Last year I lost one of the covers and they took care of me. This year I had issues with one of the lights. My lights are just about 3 years old so I wasn't really expecting anything from them. However in my opinion they went above and beyond to help me out. They have pretty much earned my business for life. Now if they'd just hurry up and make the integrated driving lights/blinkers for the Tenere I'd be super happy.

Carry a spare bulb (or two).

I originally installed the Cyclops kit roughly two years ago. A week before leaving on a trip one of the bulbs burned out. Call Cyclops. I was just out of the year warranty, but they gave me a 50% discount and expedited shipping. Fast forward to last week. I am on the road (first day) to CO from NC. One of the bulbs is out again (don't remember which side I installed new vs original). Get to Springfield, MO for the night. Go get a standard H7 bulb from autoparts store. Get back to place we're staying, the other bulb is now not lit. Fan runs, no light. Go back to store for second standard H7. Those carried me the rest of the 5,000 mile/8 day trip and still burning on my daily commute (I ride year round). Haven't had a chance to call Cyclops yet, but have lost faith that their bulbs will be there when I need them. Fortunately, my aux lights are more than sufficient to get me thru the night.

So, 3 bulbs dead in less than two years, roughly 23,000 miles.

Here’s my experimental “vent”. Drilled few 1/4” holes in the Cyclops cap, used (Don’t laugh) Gatorade caps, cut them down (so there is fork clearance) drilled smaller holes in the caps to lessen water ingestion, inserted foam behind the orange cap (filter) and super glued them together, siliconed the connection to water proof it. Drilled a small drain hole on the bottom of the orange cap so if the foam gets moisture it will drain out The bottom. Hope it makes sense. 62DBEE59-87CF-47D7-BCEE-1C078E7E8B75.jpeg

Called Cyclops yesterday and talked with Darryl. Good conversation and he has been taking feedback around this for some time and working on a solution. Currently working on a one-way membrane of sorts to allow heat to escape without ingress of water and dust as well as LED connections with higher heat tolerances. Great to know they are constantly improving design and listening to customer feedback. And understanding each bike's nuances that could lead to issues such as overheating.

I installed the cyclops today, with the caps that come in the kit. I got frustrated and took off the darn assy as I kept pinching my hand and cold not get them to work. Once off no problem........I checked them(still not mounted) I was kinda curious about the bright light. They dont seem to be too much brighter, I know the shutter comes up as opposed to getting brighter or adding a bulb.

Any tips/advise before I slap that joker back on?

Check the aim of the assembly, a lot of Teneres seem be delivered with the headlights aimed too high - mine sure was. Might be easier to familiarize yourself with the adjustments before re-fitting the assembly.

Aim the light at a wall and check for even light distribution with a very clear cut off line. After installing mine I wasn't impressed and found the light output uneven. I had to play with the clocking of the bulbs and the adapter/retaining rings until I had an even, well defined light pattern. That made a huge difference, I have been very happy and impressed with them now for about 20,000 problem free miles.

How do these cyclops bulbs behave when they fail? I'm noticing that my right bulb is looking less bright than the left one when I see my reflection off of the back of a shiny car or in a window. Looks like all of the emitters are still working but not as brightly. Do they just start fading away or go out suddenly?

Mine was weaker for a few days and then just failed. When removed, the material was missing from one of the rectangles and the general color of the one remaining was browned.
