been a long time since Ive been down on payment. Coming home Friday, pocket of gravel on inside corner, shaded by tree. Never seen it, front washed and down she went. I walked away without a scratch, thank God for good gear, saved my hide. Bike has considerable cosmetic damage, nothing that can't be replaced. Hears the bad, sub frame is pushed over about 2 inches, ok thats replaceable. Mounting tabs for the crash bars on left side are bent over. That is the part I think will total it. Very repairable but the insurance company is thinking it going to cost to much. The shop i use said 3000 in labor just to replace the frame. So in short I'm glad I had the gear on and not hurt but looks like I'm bike shopping.

Gravel on corner has led to a lot of crashed motorcycles , personally I believe Wisconsin has more sand-gravel on corners than any other state. Tenere is pretty easily replaced but not you , I’m very thankful you didn’t get seriously hurt.

Glad to hear you're not hurt. Surprised at the amount of damage. . . . looks like an easy go-down.

Very glad that you fared better than the bike

I know it's a bummer to loose a good bike but metal and plastic is a lot easier to replace than skin and bone

If your bike is written off and you plan to replace it with another S10, take off any undamaged farkles

It was a low side on the right, I came off and it rolled to the left side, smacked the road pretty hard. Almost went completely over. Wind shield has rash all the way down

I high-sided the Beemer one time. It hit hard enough on the right side, it bounced back over onto the left. It was a short flight for me, only minor scratches.

I've been on a super t for 7 or 8 years now, this is my second one. I'm not sure at this point if I'm going back with another. Very happy with both bikes. Maybe try a different flavor this go. We'll see

I think it was the way it landed on the left side, a downward angle to the crash bar. Hard to tell

Glad you’re ok, but very surprised the bike is totaled from that. I wonder if it pays to buy it back from insurance and fix rather than replace everything?

I have thought about buying it back, not so easy to do here in GA. Some have told me the insurance company won't let me buy back. I haven't ask yet.

You're ok, that's the most important thing by far. Bikes are replaceable

Insurance isn't going to be scouring used parts off ebay. If you price everything out that's dinged and scratched at MSRP, plus the cost of dealer labour, you're going to be very close to the replacement value of the bike, if not more. Just the frame and subframe run up $2300 retail from Ron Ayers.

Yes, glad you are not hurt.

I totaled my first Tenere. Insurance company did a great job and paid for most of my next Tenere. It's not necessarily a bad thing as long as you're uninjured.

When I totaled out a wing by hitting a deer I asked Geico about possibly buying it back but the answer was an absolute no, they said Geico doesn’t allow that.

That’s the problem with insurance repairs for motorcycles. They don’t fix anything, it’s all just replaced. At least with cars they fix a dent, but dent your fuel tank and they replace it.
