Couple of questions about Rox Risers

I want to get some Rox Risers because when I put in my Seat Concepts seat, it raised the seat up and put my hands in an uncomfortable spot. I also want some for my future off-road endeavors. My questions are:

1. Is the 2014 Gen 2 handlebar size 1 1/8? These are the ones I am thinking about getting:

2. What finish most matches the OEM handlebar - Clear Anodized or Machine Finished Aluminum?

Thanks in advance!

I just received mine today, i'm waiting on a new set of bars to install them.

https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/rox-2-extended-stem-pivoting-risers-for-1-18-handlebars

This is the one you need, with the extended stem. The regular one are on the short side to make proper contact with the angled mounts.

This one is available in aluminium machined finish, seems to match the stock bars on, i'll post a pic later.
That would be great!
Did you also get this? https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/altrider-rox-risers-install-kit-yamaha-super-tenere-2010-2016

Or did you get longer cables?

Pic, you can also see why you need the wider version, Probably the standard version is "fine" but my handlebars are not something I'm taking a chance on.

And did my own kit... for 10$ at Canadian tire, any auto parts shop should have the 1/4 inch rubber clamp and a piece of hose for cheap... Zipties, I have a zillion at home. Mind you, would have been 5$ US + duties + taxes + shipping... so about 45$ Canadian LOL

Hey Tall! Did you get your risers installed? How is it looking?
Still on the work bench...

I ended u receiving the ebay 25mm risers and will be giving those a try next time i'm out combined with my Tracer 900 GT bars(2inch narrower, less sweep also).

So my data will be off given the narrower bars also.

I just need to have a lil less work and mother nature to cooperate to try the current setup and see if i'll go higher or not.

When I made my bars, I found that Rustoleum Metallic 'Silver Metallic' matches the stock color near perfect!

I put the tall Rox Risers on my '15, and had to install the longer clutch hose. Everything on the right side was fine, though.

Did you unbolt the mount/end the stuff with the stock hose? Unless your bars are rotated differently it shouldn't need it, they all use the same parts so what works on one should work on another. Unless your bars are rotated in a way that shortens things of course. I suppose that also matters where you have the risers set as well.

This is a great discussion - I'm in the same boat. I bought 2" risers from Wayne the other day. However as I went searching for install videos, etc., I wasn't sure about the hoses. So I'm trying to bring the bars back as much as possible, don't need the rise as much as the pull back. If I install the risers to come almost straight back, will I need just the adapter or longer hoses?

I did try rotating the banjo fitting, but there wasn't any slack and everything was pulled pretty tight. I could have bolted everything together but it seemed destined for failure, so I opted for adding slack.

Thanks, Jeff. I have a Gen 2. I bought the little install kit with the risers. Are you saying that I will still need longer clutch and brake cables?
No, but it's one way of making things work smoothly. The AltRider kit is no more than a few bits of hardware store items and some zip ties, but kudos to them for providing a great video to show how to do it. I installed 2" ROX risers on my '15 Gen II w/o longer lines, using the method that AltRider shows in their vid, using parts I had in my garage already. Worked great and no binding or issues over the last 20k plus miles.

Yes, I have the extended ROX risers for Gen II bikes. AltRider Video HERE. Scroll down and click on the vid. Worth watching.

Thanks... Yes I ended up using the kit. I feel pretty good about it except on full lock to the right the clutch cable is still pretty tight but that is only if full lock to the right.

I like the AltRider kit because its 5 bucks to not have to go wander around a hardware store looking for stuff.

That said, if you have been a mechanic, even just a hobby level backyard mechanic on your own bike, you probably have all that stuff laying around.

Regarding lines - has anyone replaced their lines with braided lines (i.e. Spiegler), and if so: 1) was there more slack than the OE lines; 2) did you notice a performance difference (i.e. better brake response, etc.)?
