LVMPD bike cops are cool. First words out of his mouth "Ill race ya!" Bored off his rear working traffic control for a convention. Sat at the light for a few mins chatting. Bikers are good people, just a quick snippet before we started talking personal stuff. He wants to ride the S10 to compare to his 800GS wants something with a shaft so we are going out latter this week.

Yamaha needs to promote the T-12 as their LE entry. I love the FJR, their current entry, but, for LE....hands down, the T-12 is superior.

I have nothing but good to say about our law enforcement community.

Glad you found a cool cop. Unusual for traffic cops. The real cops are ok but traffic cops are generally just revenue raising bullies.

Traffic enforcement guys job is to enforce traffic.... So they get a bad rap for writing more tickets when in reality it's their job. I've found at least here in the US if you are on a bike and not being COMPLETELY stupid you generally get a pass from motor cops (and cops in general). Most of the motor guys here are cool to bikes anyway. They biker wave, Ive ran into quite a few of them at stop light and chat for a bit.

The last time I was pulled over was here in Vegas (and it was so long ago now that I was on my 04 FJR). One of the roads that parallels I15 had some nice curves, and I was a bit above the 35mph limit. A couple of Metro motor officers were parked under the bridge that crossed the highway (I didn’t see them) with another unit on top of the bridge. I backed off and even waved to the two under the bridge as I went by, but they still stopped me and we had a nice chat, and they sent me on my way with a warning. Mostly I think because I was ATTGATT (it was during the warmer part of the year) and because I acknowledged they were there...

Have you seen them running the interagency bike patrol stuff on 95 and 215 lately? Its hilarious.

They set up at Auto Mall on 95 North bound and Valle Verde on the 215 East bound They toss 2 guys with radar/lidar on top of the overpass and then a conga line of chase bikes on the onramp. Last time I saw them it was 7 bikes in the conga line. Boulder City, NLV,NHP, Constibles, Henderson and METRO. Plus they already had another 10 pulled over between there and Sunset! Sneaky as hell!

Maaaan, that's a small shoulder. One drunk, or texter, not paying attention....
Agree. They have a TON of crossing the white line violations at this spot. Our other Freeway joins just before this, and has a long single white (do not cross) line for at least 1/2 a mile (on a low visibility curve so not safe). Every time I take it I see 10 people jump the gun over to the traffic lanes rather than say in the feeder lane till the broken line you can cross.

My guess is they were set up to combat the line violators not the speeders. As there is essentially no other traffic on this section of freeway unless you are coming into town from AZ. BTW that makes this ramp a bit safer than you might think. Other than the mechanics getting off at 5 or 6 , there is essentially no traffic on that ramp for them to worry about. Heck the only reason I was on it that day, I got ran out of my lane on the exit I am talking about above and had to loop around this way.

That's more cops in that one area than I have ever seen. My typical drive route is 95 north to 215 west (Boulder City to the Strip), and other than the occasional NHP patrol unit sitting at the end of the K-rail on 95 south (or under the Wagon Wheel bridge in the summer), I never see any enforcement taking place...
