Hello, It is highly probable (see my other post here) that I will need to buy another meter: gen2 2KB-83500-21-00. And also probable that I will buy it in US because it is less expensive and everything is close here because of the covid shit. I read that US meter , but I think it was for the gen1, may be configured in KPH. Can someone confirm that for me please. If you have a non working assy that I could take for an housing transplant, PM me now !

The US bikes can switch back and forth between km and mph on both Gen I and II. However, I don't know if that is a function of the meter assembly or the ECU. Sort of thinking it's the later.

deit - Gen I meter assembly would not have CC indicators and IIRC, uses a different plug than Gen II.

Canadian bikes had the red immobilizer keys an the US bikes did not. For that reason, I'd recommend being really careful in verifying what is being bought. (But it sounds like klingklang is already doing that.)

I can confirm that a USA spec speedometer unit WILL NOT work on a Canadian bike. Switching logic is in the USA spec ECU. I bought one and installed it on my bike, it came up MPH and I could not switch to Kms and of course it did not have the flashing key icon. I was able to return it for credit.

While its not ideal, since you were just looking for the housing, is to go ahead and find the least expensive meter you can, then swap the housing from it to replace your damaged unit. That way, you keep your mileage and other functions of the display, while repairing the damage.

That was the plan, but try to find just the housing. I bought a used MT-09 tracer cluster in UK this morning which is similar except the plug port and way less expensive than the super ten . They use the same mold and I can see the interchangeable mold insert partition. The Tracer is Straight, and the ST is twisted. I'll cut that around and swap the plug hole from mine.
