Mentioned elsewhere that one of the pictures of the white bike shows what appears to a carbon guard over the Akra pipe - which doesn't appear to be part of the Akra kit or an announced Yamaha accessory.

I could live with the combination of the Akra and something minimalist in place of the standard heat shield...

But possibly not at a cost of > £650.

Er, group buy anyone....?

The one at the NEC certainly didn't seem to have removable baffles. It'll still sound better though.

Or
Check out the MotorradWorks Cat-back carbon system.

We THINK nicer looking and more "fitting" the bike.
We KNOW nicer sounding.. 8)

Cheaper, and available NOW.

This system will also allow direct mate to our "in development" replacement pillion peg hangers which also allow removal of the sidecover/heatshield.
Also allows a direct upgrade path to our "in development" cat-less big bore header system.

Check the details, pics, and videos in the vendors section at: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=488.0

Is this more to your liking then Greyman?

This after about 200kms of West Australias finest pee gravel and some excellent single trails.

Bloody great day.... Shit I love this bike >:D

Greg

Added another pick. Same photo session, different angle.
Believe it or not, the bike was completely covered in the gravel dust prior to getting on the highway for the 100km transport section home.
The dust you see in the rear rim was full cover... It looked like I had dust coloured wheels.

Did I mention it was a FUN day?

Well that's better ;D

Tell me, as a bit of a "clean the bike properly after every gnarly ride" type of guy myself, how easy is it to keep clean?

Cheers

A pain to clean since I never cleaned a bike so many times... Then again, I never went off-road before owning the XT12 :))

Greg,
So, is the windscreen position shown in this photo your "ride home" position? It looks fairly upright. I received my mount two days ago (Thank you VERY much) and I'm really anxious for May to get here so I have something to mount it on!!!! ;)

Nah, I cant remember why it was put in that position. I think my brother was messing around with it just before I took the photo, which was just before I hit both bikes with the pressure washer.

Enjoy fondling your new part, and COME ON MAY..

Greg.

Patience! I need more. ;)

Now, before this sinks any lower with our banter, back to this sweet XT12 in Comp White. :)

This thing does look great in white, almost as good as black, almost... :p

Not enough white. A white bike should not be mostly black. Side covers should have been white too
