The ONE good thing about the miserable August Texas Heat is the built in excuse to go to the land of 70 degree highs!

A bit risky riding alone on some sections of the track I took to try to get to the top of mount Helmet.
(I kept staring at it on a satellite view from my camping spot. There had to be a way up there)

This whole area is absolutely fantastic. But with almost no people compared to the notorious loops and passes.

In a month I am riding from Sturgis to AZ through CO but all pavement since I am doing it alone.

Limey you have been home a month. Join me and do the devil's highway, the former AZ 666. I will pay for hotel rooms you buy dinner!

It's always safer riding alone to be on a small bike, I used an XT225 to do a lot of that in Colorado.

Love riding in Colorado. Looking forward to going back.

This morning I started the process of rebuilding my 2015 Colorado ride report after the PhotoBucket fiasco. Good to go through all those memories again.

Loved riding the passes out there.

Have fun out there.

Agreed. The only flaw in that theory is that there are moments where everything becomes so perfect, in every way, that you catch yourself FLYING. (relatively, of course)

You come to your senses and repeat to yourself "dude, Harrison or Bob or Mark or Patrick or Jon......aren't here to pick your old bones up off the ground and haul you outta here.

Drop a gear. Lol

Anyways, the point is, Colorado is my medicine for so many things. My treasured time here never is less than epic. I'm grateful for the freedom to just soak in it!

I fully understand the thrill of speed and need my fix often.

But alone in the mountains is no place for me to get it.
And I'm older than you Bruce. :'(

I shouldn't be a threat to anyone, I mostly know nothing except how to ride, And I should be better at that than I am since I was born on a bike and have lived on them my whole life.

??? ??? ???

You jest, no? Steve - you can outride any three of us at one time all while shooting pix and riding one-handed. DAMHIK?!?!

Neither of you - Steve and Bruce - are "old" - just "experienced!" And great role models for how I plan to ride as the years accumulate.

And CO is an amazing playground on motos. Just thinking about it sparked memories of my high country adventures last summer. Here is Fancy showing the little bikes how it is done

You're a month late and on the wrong bike!! ;D

Enjoy!! And keep pics coming.
Believe me, I agree!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm having a ball. Gotta pinch myself 3 or 4 times a day.
But it'd be WAY better sharing. And cuttin up at the end of the day with you guys.

Oh, and I'll ride whatever everyone is riding. Big, little, street, dirt.......never got off a horse that didn't make me grin.

Having said that, as Steve pointed out, when alone, you KNOW you can pick up 240ish pounds. ;)

I spent the afternoon trying to hone my skills.
I'll have you know SOME folks would say mountain biking is honing my skills too.

(although, the nap is something I'm far better at)

BigBob, I need a first cousin that has a place somewhere I wanna go. Mine is in Beaumont. :(

Loving Colorado for the riding and views.
Loving the pix.
Not so much about using the annual leave days on the days on those flat States between here and there.

Thanks - ya kid!
LOL
O:)

And eemsreno definitely has all of us in experience and skill.
We need an emoticon like this

So I have to ask... did your boss send you a text asking "where are you" and you sent him this picture?

You know so much about my nomad life Jon!
It was about 2 weeks ago that he asked for some assistance via an email. It was a Sunday morning like today. I immediately took over his laptop via remote control. It startled him because he was actually using it and had only sent the email moments earlier.
I immediately received a text "so your home?"
I replied "why do you assume that?"
He stated "because you responded so quickly and you're controlling my Surface"

I then text him a pic of that brown bear that was 25 yards from my coffee cup.
His response was a phone CALL.
I answered....wazzup?

He blurted out Holy S$#&!!

Yep, I love it when he asks where I am. I think he actually gets a kick out of it. I'm blessed to work for the gent.

Warning.... sunglasses needed for the eyeball accosting glare of my gringo whiteness. ::013::

So I've drifted off into lala-land, only to be awakened by a familiar tune from my childhood. I hadn't heard it in decades. It was The IceCream Man Is Coming song!
Was I dreaming?

I looked around and sure enough the ice-cream truck was rolling slowly through the park!
I wanted one.

I headed in that direction and glanced over at the playground and noticed not a single little kid was aware!
But from all directions of the park were folks my age heading for a rendezvous. Lol

I was second in line. About 10 seniors behind me.
The fella in front of me said, when asked "how can I help ya?", stated he was still looking at the choices plastered all over the truck.

Me?
I took one look at that magnificent picture of "The Bomb" and declared I'll have The Bomb!!

About 5 folks behind me said "Me too!!!"
