When I owned my Buell Ulysses, a popular mod was was opening up the exhaust can, removing the yards of tubing inside and replacing with a few staggered plate baffles. As there appears to be a few used end cans around, I was wondering if anyone has performed a “canectomy” on a Super Ten end can to get a less restrictive exhaust with a little more aural pleasure.

I think most just install a Yoshimura, Arrow or other. I remember something in the archives about removing the cat from the mid pipe. The Gen1 is reported to be more restrictive than later exhaust. The pics looked very restrictive. Like a big roll of fine stainless mesh. Someone showed pics of cutting mid pipe and removing said material and reporting an improved throttle response while leaving stock muffler on. any good welder could handle the task. Or just buy an Arrow header.
