I had a minor gripe with the side stand in that it wasn't the easiest to deploy whilst still on the bike, either using the side stand foot or the bar that resides just in front of footrest when up. It also appeared to be a little short and seems to have significant lean when down. To effect a potential remedy I've purchased and fitted a CamelToe side stand foot from Adventure Parts (adventureparts.co.uk) though I got mine off ebay.
Fitting instructions are clear but don't really indicate what a fiddle mine was getting all the bolts in from bottom plate to top clamp and what appears to be a 5 min job took about 1/2 hr with me resorting to mole grips and brute force to get all the bolts in and tightened. The instructions suggest adjusting it once on for ideal location , I found it would only go on in one position which may be due to tolerance variances in stock parts and thier design.
That all said its now on and offers a bigger footprint and slightly longer sidestand (longer to the tune of allen bolt dome head depth + the camel foot plate thickness (~9mm guess) .
Thoughts now its one it looks like it doesnt sit any lower than the footpeg hero blob when raised but if you do get that cranked over the sidestand wont move but the peg can raise, I can't evisage me that far over. I need to use it more to get a feel for easy of deployment and Pics to follow, both when it stops raining :(.
Just a quick update. I dont think the rain is going to let for rest of day (despite forecast being just showers) anyways took it for a quick spin to get fish n chips in and the stand is a lot easier to extend now using the now larger foot, without the cameltoe it require a deliberate placemtn of boot to get right contact to swing it out and down now it appears almost subliminal, so despite the frig on fitting it, its plus marks from me.

We're a bit snow covered at the mo :(
I took the bike out of the garage this mornining to take pics of it and the HiD kit but as I turned into a 250kg sledge going backwards downhill with the front wheel locked I decided I'd concentrate on getting it back undercover (its a little cramped in there for pics).
Mental note Tourance EXPs don't really grip snow/slush/ice that well but thankfully max TCS was enough to control the rear wheelspin to stop it going massively sideways but allowed enough to dig through snow to the gravel underneath.
PS the camel toe works a treat as adds just enough extra length to reduce the lean angle. I think the Altrider one is a little stiffly priced compared to the competition, esp for UK residents (+shipping and import duties).

Still Snow bound:( its now upto my knees just outside my garage and I think cabin fever is setting in, well what ever the UK version of it is :) . I will have to rig up some lights to take a pic of the foot, It really does make a difference tough not enough to support it in a snow bank. I've also noticed Touratech are now offering thier own sidestand foot for very similar monies to the CamelToe item. Something else for others to consider.
ps being a post whore to gain entry to Sumpguard compo :)

Macca, don't you have a snowblower to take care of all that snow? ;)
