Buying power of our local Tenere riders...?

I've ridden a lot this year. Topped over 24K miles since mid February, with rides to both coasts, around Lake Superior and down to Missouri, all on the Super T. I've noted that this has been an expensive year with numerous oil changes, brake pad (rear) and tire changes... Which got me thinking how much that has cost...then was thinking that many of you'all are doing the same thing I'm doing, with most of your own easy-peasy maintenance.

So something to think about: I will be purchasing much of next seasons anticipated parts in January...There could be a significant savings if we pooled our buying power and bought in bulk. I've done 14 oil changes (between two mc's), which translates into 14 gallons of oil and 14 oil filters. I'll bet many of you have consumed a bunch too. I've bought four sets of tires, too.

So if your interested, shoot me a pm or email and let me know if your interested in buying in bulk, to acheive a savings for the next riding season.

Rockymountainatv.com has a buyers rebate program which is pretty nice, especially when you get in the higher tiers. Free shipping on orders over $99, and flat $7 under $99 too. I wonder if we could work something out with them? They have OEM Yamaha parts for the Tenere.

Tier Spend this much within the year Points earned per dollar spent Get this much back
$0 - $1,000 1 point Every $1000 spent = $50 Reward Cash
$1,000.01 - $2,500 2 points Every $500 spent = $50 Reward Cash
$2,500.01 - $3,500 3 points Every $333 spent = $50 Reward Cash
$3,500.01 + 4 points Every $250 spent = $50 Reward Cash

The program caps out at $9K spending for the year. Given the miles that everyone is putting on their bike, it shouldn't be too hard to set up.

I'm using a fresh OEM filter (from ebay in packs of 10) and Shell Rotella T in 1 gallon jugs for oil changes every 3000-3500 miles.

After 50K in 13 months, I'm definitely interested in reducing the cost of consumables like OEM oil filters, oil, and OEM brake pads (still on original fronts, but their time will come eventually). The K-60s have been turning in some awesome (bit over 25K miles from the last set) mileage, but shaving a couple bucks off a set by doing a group by would be sweet.

What about reaching out to Romney in WV to see if they would do something? There are number of us out here in the East Side and I'm all for saving a few bucks.
