ADV Motorrad is proud to announce we are the exclusive USA importer for BUMOT aluminum pannier and top box systems. BUMOT luggage is handcrafted in Bulgaria and is designed for the rider who demands the most durable and functional luggage for adventure touring. The design and testing process, build quality, use of "ADV-grade" materials, and unique features make BUMOT systems a great option for riders looking for a good balance of form, function, and value.

BUMOT systems include:
  • TIG welded construction from 2mm aluminum sheet versus 1.5mm in competing products
  • Double-layer 4mm wall construction around the entire lower edge of the pannier using techniques borrowed from the sports car and airline industry
  • Symmetrical pannier systems with exhaust cut allow for a much narrower system width than asymmetrical systems
  • Fully powdercoated inside and out in your choice of silver or black - no more oxidation / black aluminum dust transfer to the contents of your pannier!
  • Friction lock hinges which allow the lid to held open anywhere in the range (versus fixed position with an add-on retention strap)
  • Heavy duty rubber gaskets and recessed opening design ensure waterproofness
  • Zinc passivated latches with a tensile strength of 1,000 pounds each
  • Included (not optional) lock cylinders, which are keyed alike for panniers, top boxes, and toolboxes (100 possible key combinations)
  • Integrated locking toolboxes (coming soon for the Super Tenere) that provide additional storage secured to the pannier rack
  • Bespoke racks provide a strong, stable mounting platform and are galvanized and powdercoated for durability
  • Optional Cordura pannier inner bags with YKK zippers available
BUMOT systems are relatively new to North America but have already received very positive reviews from those that have installed them. Here's a link to a product review written by a BMWMOA member that installed and put 7,000+ miles on an R1150GS system. For those wondering how durable these systems really are, make sure you read all the way to the end of the article for a real-world crash test!

Since taking on distribution for BUMOT in January, we have been amazed at the build quality, attention to detail, and value for money you can get with their products. We've been anxiously awaiting completion of the Super Tenere application for some time now and are very excited to add this to our growing catalog of adventure-ready parts for the XT1200Z. The pannier systems will be available in both 40L and 45L capacities and powdercoated in your choice of matte black or silver. The quick release top case plate and top cases are also available now, and will be included in our shipment due in late May. The optional toolbox available for other applications is almost completed for the Super Tenere and will be ready to ship in June.

We have already sold quite a few of these systems for other applications (R1200GS, F800GS, etc.) and have had uniformly positive feedback across the board. If you have any questions or would like to pre-order a system, please PM us here, email us at sales AT advmotorrad DOT com, or call the shop at (585) 310-ADVM.

Thanks!

That top rack looks good and sturdy! I like the low mounting and the extra cubby spot.
Very nice !

Can't find any info about the Super Tenere specific ones on your website... But I'm sure that's coming soon enough.

I like everything about 'em that you can see, but the one thing not shown at all is how the panniers attach to the pannier racks. Any pictures or info on that?

This comes at an opportune time, as I am thinking of either a complete re-hab, stem to stern, of my S-10, or since my dealer keeps on me to get a 2014 I may go that way. Either way I've been looking at new side cases, etc. These look good enough to be in the hunt... Just need many, many more pictures and info.

Looking forward to whatever additional info and details you can give us! ::008::

Hi guys - thanks for the feedback! I should have the product pages live on the site later this week, and have asked for additional pictures of the racks and mounts.

I have two sets of 45L and two sets of 40L, all in matte black, departing Bulgaria this Friday and estimated to arrive the week of 5/23. I also have 6 top case plates on order and an assortment of 25L and 41L top cases. I'll get some pictures of the top cases posted up here shortly.

The only thing I will want to confirm is if there will be any interference issues with ES-spec'd 2014 bikes, specifically with the factory infill panel. I'll do a bit more research and/or follow up with BUMOT to confirm, but I'm thinking the panel will need to come off for the rack to mount up. Holan gets around this by having the mounting point at the passenger peg pivot.

More info to follow!

Thanks...

How do they attach and detach from the racks?

Similar to Touratech, Holan, etc., or some kind of quick release like a Metal Mule?

Thanks!

Hi Dallara - very similar to a Holan/Touratech setup with a fixed "arm" at the bottom and rotating cam arms at the top. I've attached some pictures below of the back of the F800GS pannier with exhaust cut - the polyamide mounting blocks have changed slightly, but the general idea is the same. There's an aluminum retention knob inside the case to tighten the upper arms once rotated into place, and when the case is locked (with the included lock cylinders), the panniers can't be removed from the rack.

BUMOT is cranking to get our shipment out the door by tomorrow, but as soon as I get additional pictures from my contact I'll post them up here.

Thanks!

Thanks, Jason!

Just the info I was looking for. Appreciate you taking the time to post that. I'll keep my eyes open for more info on the Bumot gear here and on your website.

Gotta' admit, right now it looks like you have two of the very best hard case luggage solutions for the Super Tenere out there on the market! ::008::

BTW, look for a PM from me for you regarding some other gear I think might interest you.

Looks nice. Do you have the weight specs for the panniers, brackets, etc?

Hi guys - I'll answer all PMs and provide more detailed info this weekend, but based on the pictures I just received and the instructions I've been working on with BUMOT, my guess is that they won't fit as-is on an ES-equipped bike. :-[ The right side pannier rack mounts to the passenger foot peg bracket and the pannier frame looks like it occupies the same space as the factory infill panel. I'll see if we can validate with BUMOT and/or hunt down a 2014 ES to do a test fit on when the systems arrive.

If that is the case, I'll talk with the factory about revising the right side rack. On the left side, they use the hole where the factory pannier support mount is installed, so if they could do similar for the right side, it would probably solve the issue.

I'll get the pictures up as soon as I can and provide more detail (weight, etc.) but appreciate the interest! The shipment has left Bulgaria, so the first four systems are currently en route to New York! ::008::

Hi Tim - weight is probably going to be pretty comparable to other "adventure ready" pannier systems such as Holan or Jesse that use 2mm aluminum. A 45L case ready to bolt on weighs about 11 pounds and a set of racks (without the toolbox) will weigh approximately 9-10 pounds. I would expect installed weight will be right around 31-33 pounds on the bike...pretty similar to our Holan systems.

Thanks!

Jason,
Will they fit the 2014 ES ?
Hi OV1 - I hope so, but it's not looking likely due to the weight the right side pannier rack mounts to the passenger peg bracket mounts (see pictures in following post). The new factory infill panel (and probably the Pyramid aftermarket panel, for that matter) will probably interfere with the front rack support, or at least it looks that way in the pictures I'm going to confirm with BUMOT on fitment and, assuming it won't fit, will see what options might exist to update the right side rack for ES-spec'd bikes.

Thanks!

And finally...some pictures of the pannier racks without the panniers installed.

Very nice looking luggage. Any chance Bumot offers a 35 liter bag on the right as well to keep the width under 35"?
