With a few Defender systems already in stock and a huge shipment leaving Bulgaria at the end of the month, I need to make as much room as I can in the warehouse!

I have three of the well-regarded 2015 BUMOT standard (non-Defender) systems left in stock in NY - two 45L systems (one silver, one black) and one 40L silver system. They would look much better on your bike than my shelves, so I'm going to include the optional rack-mounted toolbox (a $105 value) for free. This promotion is only for the standard non-Defender systems that we have in stock currently, and once they're gone, that's all she wrote! While the Defender systems do have some nice upgrades, the final price for the standard system with the free toolbox comes in at $135 less...that's a lot of tanks of gas. :)

Any questions, or if you'd like to order of the promo systems, please feel free to call me at (585) 310-ADVM or email me at info AT advmotorrad DOT com.

Thanks!

Posted on ADVrider....some good feedback and pics of the new Defender application for the Super Tenere....

If anyone is looking for side cases I have to give a shout out to ADVMotorad. I got a set of Bumot panniers from Jason there and couldn't be more pleased. They are ROBUST, more so than any OEM cases I've seen. I know the spec for Touratech is 1.5mm thick, the Bumots are 2mm thick and from the few reviews I found are top notch in comparison to other options out there. The best part is they were less expensive than Yamaha's even with the 15% discount I could get from my dealer (there are probably better deals out there though). These things are like Eastern Bloc ammo cans and the bike attachment racks/locks are really strong and secure.

Another BUMOT Defender-equipped Super Tenere! This is the 40L / 36L system in the new smooth black finish. We have these in stock currently and ready to ship, as well as almost all other color options in both the 40/36 and 45/41 size.

Thanks Dan - hope you're enjoying your new system!

I have one non-Defender system left in stock for the Super Tenere - 45L in silver - as well as the matching toolbox. I'd like to clear out some space in the warehouse for new stock coming in, so "Black Friday" pricing on the standard systems is back! The price is now $999.99 for the system and (for YST forum members) includes the optional 3.5L rack-mounted toolbox for free - a $105 value! Net-net, if you're comparing to a Defender system spec'd the same, this will save you about $180 total....and I'm sure I don't need to do the math to show how much you'll save from some other brands. ;) I've added some pictures below of a silver 45/41L non-Defender system for reference( thanks dcretney!).

To get the free toolbox, simply add the 45L silver non-Defender system to your cart, add the matching silver toolbox to your cart, and then enter coupon code TOOLBOX (all caps) in the "Use Coupon Code" box of the shopping cart page.

As always, any questions, please feel free to email me or call the shop at (585) 310-ADVM. If you're interested in a Defender system, we do have decent stock of those as well and more being ordered this week!

Thanks...

I have these and am truly impressed by the construction and finish on these cases. I am waiting for my top case to be delivered today. The pic has the OEM case on it.

3 quick questions:

1) Does any "box" exist that would fit securely into the space under the Bumot mounting plate? I'm thinking something like the pannier toolbox.

2) If I get a Bumot top case, then months later buy the pannier set, can I still get all the locks keyed the same?

3) What is the recommended weight load of the top case.

Thanks much, about to pull the trigger.

Hi WenWa - thanks for your interest! Answers are below:

Nothing at the the moment, although every time I look at it, I see a great spot to stash small items. Odds are good a small Pelican case could also work in that area if you wanted to DIY something.

2) If I get a Bumot top case, then months later buy the pannier set, can I still get all the locks keyed the same?
We try to hold back some stock of key combinations to ensure we can key to match down the road, so if you opt to add the pannier set at a later date, odds are very good we can key to match. I'll just need the three-digit key code stamped into the top case key head to match. On the off-chance we can't match (hasn't happened yet in 2+ years), we can get you a separate replacement lock set for all cases so that everything would be matched.

3) What is the recommended weight load of the top case.
This is probably more a factor of the weight rating of the rear subframe/mounting point area, as the mount and top box are pretty much bombproof. :) I don't have Yamaha's recommendation in front of me, but will do some checking and see if I can scare it up - it will probably be very conservative. Realistically, we have riders keeping reasonable loads in their top cases without any issue over long distances, although usually you'll want to keep heavier items lower in the panniers for less top-heaviness. For more aggressive off-road situations, a dry bag may work better than a top case (BUMOT or otherwise), but it is tough to beat the utility of the 41L top case!

I'll see if I can get the Yamaha max load rating today, but if you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Anybody want to trade their original style strap lashing points for the new style?

Wow! New York to WA state in 2 days. Was not expecting shipment until Monday.

Got the box on without difficulty. No instructions included, but I looked at a couple pictures and figured it out easy enough. I'm very impressed with this case. Solid, well thought out. The hinges and locks are beefy. Enjoy the pics. Sorry about the clutter.

Only knock on the case, as far as I can tell, one must empty the contents of the case to unscrew the knob on the bottom. For my purposes, not a big deal.

Thanks again Jason for an exceptional product!

I just installed a Pelican/Storm #2450 using the Bumot topcase mounting kit and their cargo plate system. I'm VERY PLEASED with the results. It's a top quality piece of kit- with the exception of the allen head screws used to secure the mounting points. They are complete crap. Replace these before you begin the installation process. One of the heads of these (internal hex/allen style) was stripped before I even put the bit in the hole. One stripped out as I was securing the rear most mount to my case. Another on the front. 3 out of 8 is not a good average! I managed to get them all secured using channel lock pliers, biting the soft edges of the screws- save yourself the hassle and get quality screws and avoid the frustration.

Another tip for folks that buy this mount and use it on a non-Bumot top case. I bought some mm/cm graph paper on Amazon and created a drilling template. Jason has a diagram on his website that lays out the measurements for the mounting hardware, but it does not come with a drilling template. I will be happy to send you mine if you buy this kit- it worked great. Just shoot me a PM. In "drilling" the storm case, I found that melting each drill point with a heated awl made for a very accurate starting point for my hand held portable drill- if I had a drill press, I wouldn't have had to bother. I just taped my template to the bottom of the case and melted holes right through the marks on the paper and into the case. Finished up with my drill and I had a nice accurate set of holes. The graph paper made it easy to get perfect alignment- as the storm case has a seam line along the edge that I could parallel with my graph paper template. It turned out just as I had hoped-

One concern that I can allay- the Bumot panniers will open with just enough clearance around the Storm 2450. If you're considering any other case than the Bumot offering, you can use the width of the Storm 2450 as the very largest that will fit between the panniers and still allow them to open.

Great cargo plate, great mounting option. I'm more than pleased with all the Bumot products- and I've had Jesses, Hepcos, BMW in the past.

Mounted up the Givi crash bars and skid plate, along with the Bumot side cases I purchased from ADV Motorrad. All are well made and fit up perfectly. Especially impressed with the Bumot products! Thanks!

Jason - the Bumot panniers racks are powdercoated steel correct? And galvanized?

Just wondered how people were making out with the racks developing rust spots, etc.

Thanks.
