Hello All,
Greetings from Sweden!
I'm on my second ST. The first was a blue 2011 (hence the name blue-pig / blågrisen).
Currently riding a 2016 XT1200ZEHajstorp12ST.1.jpg.
Just got back from a trip from Sweden to Japan on my old trusted XT660Z. 24,640 km of pure fun, fantastic scenery and some terrible roads.
I have had my share of gravel roads for a while so it's time to enjoy the ST on mostly paved excursions.

Welcome to the forum. I believe we have a few others in your area. Sweden to Japan? Clearly you took the scenic route. ;) What route did you go by? And how was it getting the bike into Japan? Tourist import for a set period? Or more challenging?

Wellkommen, Blagrisen! Sweden has also many very nice scenic roads. We passed it this summer on our trip to Germany, from Kappelskär to Göteborg and have taken other nice routes many times before. So no need to travel to Japan really :)

Crisscrossing Europe down to Greece. Then Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, ferry over the Caspian See, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan (Pamir Highway), Kirgizstan, Kazakhstan once again, Russia, Mongolia, Russia again, ferry to S Korea (shipped the bikes back to Europe from Korea), rental bikes in Japan and the Yamaha HQ and museum as final stop.
People we met along the road were all great!
Friendly and helpful in ways rarely seen in the Western world!

Congratulations on the fantastic trip !
I have done quite a bit of traveling and have to say it’s almost unbelievable the number of folks that are much more than willing to go well out of there way to help someone that needs help.

I’m blessed with a son who is as motorcycle crazy as the old man and we do at least one exciting trip each year.
This year, obviously a bit longer than normal.

Feel free to check out: www.rabelaisrider.com for some clips and pics.
