Hi
Welshman living in northern NSW, Australia.
2012 Super Tenere @ 83,000kms. Motoz Adventure Tractionater tyres - great!
Returned from 250km off road ride in the Northern Tablelands area yesterday.
Usually fill up with Premium 95. Only pump available was 94 Bio. "...Caltex Bio E10 Unleaded Petrol is a high quality unleaded petrol formulated with 10% ethanol..."
Rode 5 kms (and just got) home & encountered issue with no throttle response and engine only running on what appears to be 1 or 2 cylinder? Engine trouble warning light showing.
Drained tank and put in ~7 litres of premium fuel. Error code 60 showing on screen.
Any ideas how I solve from home would be appreciated.
Thinking of removing tank and exploring 'tea bag' filter'?
Rough running and zero throttle response persists.
Thanks.

Last time I heard a Tenere running on one cylinder was from a mostly blocked fuel filter.
Maybe time to check the filter screen (tea bag filter) along with disassembling the fuel pump and back rinsing the main internal filter ( tea bag filter just keeps out the big chunks and protects the pump from debris damage)
Main internal filter traps all the dirt and water often causing poor engine running.
In our case the bike didn’t show an error code.
They do sound pretty nasty running on one cylinder

I use E10 very frequently in my S10. Never have had a problem using it in any of my vehicles.
Our E10 is probably equivalent to your Bio-E10. Technically the Ethanol is a bio-fuel.

Good to know Alan. Perhaps the mechanical issue & the fuel purchase were co-incidental. Hopefully! I will take a look at the filter(s) best I can explore.

I have just looked up bike owners manuals under fuel which say...
2012 - Premium unleaded gasoline only
2013 - Premium unleaded gasoline (Gasohol (E10) acceptable)
2014 - Premium unleaded gasoline (Gasohol (E10) acceptable)
2015 - Premium unleaded gasoline (Gasohol (E10) acceptable)

Gasohol
There are two types of gasohol: gasohol containing ethanol and that containing methanol. Gasohol containing ethanol can be used if the ethanol content does not exceed 10% (E10). Gasohol containing methanol is not recommended by Yamaha because it can cause damage to the fuel system or vehicle performance problems.

---
We have some Ethanol Fuels in Australia, E10 / Ethanol 94 (10% Ethanol) and E85 / Ethanol 105 (85% Ethanol)
Now for 2012 model, the E10 fueling standards may not have been in place so that is why no mention in owners manual.

Do check your fuel pump filter, ethanol does tend to 'clean' the tank and pipes - so your filter may have clogged.

Fuel around here, regardless of octane level, has up to 10% ethanol. I agree that the fuel is not the likely suspect, but if the fuel IS bad, or the filter is clogged, why would the motor run at all?

Code 60 is for the throttle body connection. I don’t know if you’ve had the bike worked on recently, but if the TB connector is not completely seated and locked, maybe it came adrift?

E-10 fuel is all I have used and I have never ever had a problem. Look into the TB Connectors like WJBertrand suggested above and if that doesn't fix it, looking into your fuel filter is the next logical step.

Being that you just had the bike worked on, It stands to reason they didn't plug something back in; it just took a while to for the code to come up.
